Property description / Overview of facilities
The pace of life is very tranquil at Tacana, so whether you need a retreat or a base from where to explore the selva you will be at your ease
Familiar fruits such as pineapples, bananas, limes, lemons, mangos and star fruit are grown but also more exotic forest fruits including uva, guama,
guava, chontadura, umari, caimo, maranon, cocoa, coca and other favorites of the forest people.
Two of the most popular residents at Tacana are Paco and Roberto, hand tame Macaws who live in a large tree alongside the house roam freely about the whole finca(site).They are joined frequently by wild macaws with whom they socialize (noisily at times!). Other regular visitors to the house include large blue morpho butterflies, three species of hummingbird, giant woodpeckers, eagles, Toucanetes and large flocks of small parrots known locally as pibichos.

Directions / How to find your hostel
We are situated in the Tacana Multiethnic community part of the Indigenous reserve at KM11 on the road out of Leticia. From Leticia you can take the combi (signed KM11 in the front window) from in front of the Hotel Anaconda and get off at the last stop (Entrada de Tacana). The combi Costs 2000 pesos they go about every half hour until 6 pm. Ring us before you set of and we will arrange a pick up on a motor taxi (1000 pesos) from KM11 or you can walk if you prefer (3km) along the track signposted Escuela Alfonso Zambrano. Alternatively you can get a motor taxi (8000 pesos) or Taxi (25000 pesos) from anywhere in Leticia, ask for Comunidad Multietnico de Tacana. If you are arriving on Rapido, River boat or plane we will be pleased to arrange a taxi or motor taxi pickup for you (subject to costs outlined above).
