Liked: It was kind of funky.

Disliked: The smell of the commercial kitchen was of dirty oil in the fryer. We couldn't stand it and had to move hostels. The walls were paper thin and it sounded like everyone was in our room.

Liked: It was clean and the breakfast was decent. The pricing was fair. The bed was comfortable with plenty of blankets.

Disliked: Quiet hours begin promptly at 3 AM when the last drunk drops. Noisy, a general disregard for common courtesy on the part of the guests made for an unpleasant stay. Smoke 'em if you got 'em, in the dorm that's ok too. If you wanna party til you puke this is the place. If you want to sleep..........well don't go to bed until 3 AM.

Liked: Good common areas. Decent location.

Disliked: A friend (who is a local) recommended the hostel to us and wanted to stay there after showing us around the city (it was cheaper to stay as he lives far away). The guy working the late shift told there were no beds available when the hostel was almost empty. Is there a policy of not allowing locals to stay? They had our details and my friend had ID. If this is what they call tourism I don't want to be a part of it. He was embarrassed, we were offended. The beds are the most uncomfortable I have experienced in South America. The lady who provides breakfast is extremely rude. There are many other options in a couple of block radius.

The property's response is

Donal, thank you so much for your comment. This is very important for us since we are improving our services every day. Sorry for the inconveniences. We will try to review our policies regarding local customers (since we don't allow any just for tourists' security) and of course the attitude of our restaurant staff. If you want, the next time you come to Bogota, we will be more than pleased to have you here, and we are sure you will have a great experience. Thanks! Marie.
