Liked: Plenty of activities, comfortable and in a good location.

Disliked: Showers have poor drainage and turn into a bath.

Liked: Friendly atmosphere in the hostel bar and really cheap beers! Good food, comfy beds and helpful staff.

Disliked: Just the bathroom being a wetroom so everything gets wet.

Liked: it was a great stay, we had fun doing the dumpling party.I guess they offer variety of night activities where guests will have lots of fun.it was a comfortable place and very close to drum and bell tower.

Disliked: CATHERNIE left no negative feedback.

Liked: Warm atmosphere and helpful staff

Disliked: Bedrooms were abit chilly but the heated aircon warmed them up.

Liked: I love Han Tan. Super friendly staff. Free pick up from the train station was no problem. Great doorm rooms with clean on suite bathrooms. They organise little events in the hostel every night. Fantastic hostel.

Disliked: Kristina left no negative feedback.

Liked: Free pickup from the railway station. Terracotta Tour was amazing...Jaja is a legendary tour guide. Common area is setup nicely to meet other travelers, rooftop is perfect to chill after a long day. Right in the middle of the city so cheap food and stores as soon as you step out of the hostel.

Disliked: Bathroom is connected to the dorm rooms. Usually that's ok, but lack of airflow in the building meant that everything was damp in the dorm room.

Liked: The hostel was situated very close to the buzzing centre of Xian.Also the staff were very friendly and always very helpful.I would definately recommend this hostel.

Disliked: Nothing.

Liked: Basically everything. Staff were eager to help, and personally showed us around town on multiple occasions. Highly recommended hostel.

Disliked: Although I told the staff that I needed to extend my stay, they didn't make a note of it, which meant we had to stay in a more expensive room for one night, but this was only a minor problem.

Liked: ALL!!! With 3 exclamantion marks indeed!!!! This should be at least 3* hotel, amazing atmosphere,very clean, very nicely made, loving the option of sofa & big plasma to see lots of DVDs, if that ever can be an issue they take so but SOOO much of security that never seen this in my life!!! Lots of free things, super friendly Staff, pick up from station even for free, help with all what U need and once again such a LOVELY place!!! If would have more time, defo staying in this Hostel just to spent time in a lovely place with nice atmosphere and people....best thing Xian has!!!

Disliked: That it is only in Xian and couldnt stay longer....should be this hostel in each & every city I am going to visit!

Liked: Great location, good place to meet people. Very helpful staff. Spacious private rooms.

Disliked: No kitchen facilities to make your own meals. Shower in wet room Shower took 20 mins to drain away.

Liked: We stayed in the private double room on the top floor and it was lovely to have the birds chirping on the rooftop garden when we woke up. The staff were very helpful and there was a good atmosphere in the bar/restaurant. Getting our laundry done at the hostel was cheap and convenient.

Disliked: The driver for our day trip out to one of the sights decided to fill the minivan up with petrol on the way back - I would have thought it would be much better for this to be done at another time when there is not a minivan full of people waiting to get back to the hostel and to see other things.

Liked: Rooms were ok and clean, bathroom was clean too, there is no separate shower cabin though. We got a free welcome coffee :-) When we stayed in the Han Tang Inn we found out that this hostel has a new sister hostel in the same street, the Han Tang Hostel. For the next days we moved there and were really impressed. They told us that the owner wants to make this the best hostel in China, and they are doing everything to get there. I think it's the best hostel we stayed in so far! All is brandnew and superclean, staff is excellent, the common area is really nice! My favorite hostel!!!

Disliked: In the Han Tang Inn they did not miss a chance to sell a tourist tour. They asked us all the time to book their terracotta warriors tour...

Liked: the atmosphere..the overall vibe..the facilities..freebies and just about everything that goes with it..i especially like the way they made the place feel so homey..and everybody seem to be ur relatives...nuclear family at that...the way it was decorated..you would know that the owner has class,well travelled and educated...

Disliked: none!

Liked: The free pick-up service at the train station was the biggest factor of our decision to book with Hang Tan Inn. The English speaking staff is an advantage for non-chinese tourist like us. We booked a triple bed room and wow, we were impressed by the size of its bed. Its big and gave us the opportunity to stretch our bodies - what a relief from a 13-hour train trip from Beijing in a small soft sleeper 4-berth cabin. Its location too is excellent just a walking distance from the Bell Tower-the city center.

Disliked: We (11 of us in a group) availed the day tour to Terracota Warriors offered by the hostel. Included in the package is a lunch meal. We were brought by the Tour Guide Wendy to a dirty restaurant. Tables were very untidy not cleaned thoroughly, smell of the toilet downstairs was VERY VERY TERRIBLE. Even if the food served were delicious according to Wendy but if you smell foul odour before you take in the food, then you will lose your apetite. On our way to the train station the van which we rode on bump the taxi ahead after its rear bumper was hit by a car behind. We stopped and waited for about 30 minutes. I kept on reminding the driver to hurry up lest we will be left by the train to Shanghai which will leave at 5pm. The driver was very aware of our limited time but he was very inconsiderate to drop us very far from the train station.

Liked: Very well-adapted to the needs of English-speaking travellers. Very friendly and helpful staff. Lively atmosphere and lovely rooftop garden. Quiet at night.

Liked: The place is clean and nice. Very convenient to move around as its nearby all tourist area and also the metro (subway) Food served here is delicious as well! Served very nice pizza and i love the home made yoghurt.

Disliked: This place is a bit crowded with people. And you have to order your breakfast for the next morning as the kitchen is very busy in the morning. The staff, though friendly at times is not very accommodating. I requested for a cup of English tea with milk in the morning at 7.15am before taking the taxi to the airport on my last day there. The staff just continue sweeping the floor and I didnt respond at all.

Liked: My room was very nice - small but clean and well appointed. Just a short walk to the bell tower and metro station.

Disliked: The only bad things were a lack of hot water on two occasions (one morning and one evening) and a very very small shower room/wetroom type bathroom.

Liked: Location was convenient, tv in room (although not all channels worked). I liked the fact that there was drinking water available on each level of the hostel for you to use.

Disliked: Layout of the bathroom could have been improved - shower screen / separate shower would have been better than getting the toilet wet everytime you took a shower. Better lighting also, couldn't see myself in the bathroom mirror very well because of the dim lighting.
