Liked: Shuyuan had a great atmosphere. The staff was very helpful and friendly! The hostel offered a lot of fun activities (dumpling party and bbq) and tours. The tour to the soldiers was a good deal (a little long though - trip to silk factory?!). The rooms were nice - bathrooms all looked new. A very nice courtyard and good place to hang out. I would stay there again!

Liked: Friendly staff, clean and comfortable rooms and a nice atmosphere. We had a twin ensuite. However, can be a little noisy as rooms are situated around courtyard. but don't expect a lie in as the hostel cleaners clean your windows at 7am. Overall though, would recommend.

Liked: Well-located in downtown area. VERY helpful staff. Good food (Western style) in the restaurant. Clean and cheerful interior. Beds were comfortable.

Liked: 1) The location. The hostel is very close to the Bell tower. 2) The fact that it is in a kind of traditional building, which makes it to preserve the chinese character/atmosphere. This also makes you feel relaxed and at home.
