Welcome to Square Youth Hostel in the heart of Xian, China’s ancient capital…
The spirit of Xian, China’s first ancient capital, radiates from its city walls, its Bell and Drum Tower, and its famous Terracotta warriors, dating back to over 2000 years ago. The influence of Xian’s prosperity during the Tang dynasty can be witnessed first hand from our hostel which is located adjacent to the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, erected in the 600’s A.D. This Grand 7-story pagoda was the first center of Buddhism in China, and has become the symbol of Xian. Surrounding the pagoda are classic temples, parks, and a beautiful square constructed in the Tang style, which can be enjoyed both day and night. Nearby you can also enjoy the newly built Tang Paradise theme park, and Asia’s biggest musical fountain show, which is located two minutes walk from our hostel, in the Wild Goose Pagoda Square.
In this enchanting area, we offer a more comfortable and luxurious environment than typically found in Chinese youth hostels. We have replicated the classic elegance of the Tang dynasty, with all modern conveniences and amenities. Our guests appreciate our unique atmosphere, and have praised us as being a three-star hostel. However, we understand our travelers needs, and therefore offer our beds and rooms at the same standard low prices that youth hostel guests expect.
In our main lounge, we offer a relaxing environment for resting between your travels. In our lounge you can sit on our sofas while watching movies on our flat screen TV, have drinks and order food from our western and Chinese menu, play pool on our competition quality pool table next to our lobby bar, read our books and magazines, or quietly plan your next day’s travel plans. Those who are looking for a more lively time can enjoy drinks and live music in our bar, which provides a great atmosphere for meeting locals and other travelers.
We make travel around Xian easy for you by offering various half and full day tours to nearby historical sites and museums, such as the Terracota Warriors, Hua Qing Hot Springs, Tombs of Emperor QinShihuang, Banpo Museum,Hua Moutain,Tang Dynasty dancing show, and many others. Our drivers will pick you up from the hostel in the morning, and an English speaking tour guide will accompany you on your travels. We also provide free travel information and have a travel service desk to help with any questions you may have. Also, for customers with reservations, we provide free pick up from the Xian Train Station. After your stay in Xian, we help our guests book travel plans and tours in other cities around China, such as the The Three Gorges Yangtze River cruise, and panda sightseeing. For especially ambitious travellers, our hostel also has the special license to apply for travelling permits to Tibet.
Our elegant rooms have been decorated with high-quality dark wood cabinets, desks, tables, and flooring, while the bathrooms decorated in a more modern artistic style. We have many different styles of rooms including the traditional bunk-bed dormitory , standard rooms, and rooms modeled after the early traditional Chinese style. Guests can enjoy our free high-speed internet service, using our four new desktop computers. Also, for your convenience, we provide self-service coin laundry.
