Liked: I stayed there many times before, it`s just a perfect hostel. Spotless all around, big warm rooms all air conditioned, comfortable beds, individual lockers, great showers, clean and modern bathrooms, amazing central location, beautifully decorated with load of character. free wireless, comfy couches, a variety of communal spaces where you can meet other travelers, wonderful food and the list could go on. The receptionists speak English and they`re very competent. It`s spot on, the ideal hostel.

Disliked: It`s a huge hostel with a huge number of rooms and guests and staff so you don`t get a homely kind of feeling there, it looks beautiful though it`s a sort of a very impersonal atmosphere.

Liked: this place is amazing. the decor is so stunning. it is great value for money, you definitely feel like you've turned up at the wrong place when you come here. all this for such a small price, excellent! definitely the best hostel we've stayed at in china, and up there for worldwide too!

Liked: Great bathroom, even better location.

Disliked: We stayed in the basement. Room was great but the windows were so thin that we heard everything going on in the hall and other guests rooms-- it was pretty disturbing some of the "sounds" we heard.

Liked: It was in a very nice Chinese style old building, good atmosphere. I was very surprised, in a good way, when I stepped in. Public areas are very comfy.

Liked: I liked it because the atmosphere was awesome and I loved the location. It is so easy to get to places from there. I liked the staff there. They were very friendly.

Disliked: There's nothing that I do not like about this property.

Liked: Free pick up before noon and after 7am. Secure rooms, comfy beds decent showers.

Disliked: If you don't like smoking or the smell if smoke, avoid this place. They let people smoke in reception and bar and restaurant even though there is no ventilation! Smoke is China is more intense, I found myself coughing everytime I went to reception. Food is fairly expensive and the beer is a rip off.

Liked: Lovely courtyard to hang out in. Good wifi. Rooms are spacious with controlled air and provided tea and boilers on each floor and mosquito repellers in each room.

Disliked: Not that helpful in organizing tours other than the ones that they offer. Restaurant a little pricey

Liked: Very large and comfortable communal area. Not too far from good restaurants and the Muslim quarter. Good powerful shower. Jack the manager was very helpful and keen to please.

Disliked: We took a basement double room. it was windowless and somewhat depressing. The bed was very very hard even by Chinese standards.

Liked: The location was good.

Disliked: The room we reserved was not available when we arrived. The food in the hostel was soo expensive. There were only 2 toilets per floor and there were lots of ppl in the hostel. Six showers on the top floor were always full, you had to wait for a turn.

Liked: Location and general hostel feel

Disliked: The Tours, its easy and cheaper to visit the Warriors by yourself. 1 Yuan bus to the main bus station then 8 Yuan bus to the warriors. The cost is 110 Yuan to get in (55 if your a student) so to get there, back and in costs a total of 128 Yuan compared to 230 Yuan for the tour offered by the hostel. They also insist on taking you to a Jade museum!

Liked: location

Disliked: for the price paid expected a comfy bed and clean bathroom. bathroom floor was not cleaned properly before we checked in and bed mattress was very thin. Got the feeling that they don't really care about customers, they will help you as long as they are getting something out of it. staff not rude but not friendly either. felt they tried to discourage us from getting train tickets and doing sights on our own. the bar is full of locals at night, and we had sat down with a drink on one of the sofas. we were moved to a less comfy seat so that a group of locals could have our sofa and tables which didn't make us feel very welcome on our first night. i found a hair in my food (food is very overpriced) and the waitress saw me pull it out, muttered a small sorry, took the hair from me and threw it on the floor. I wouldn't have minded so much if they had actually made me feel they were sorry. We did not enjoy our stay here and thought it was way overpriced for what you get.

Liked: It had access to the internet, tours, international calling and a wide variety of food on offer (especially good as the same type of food can get a bit boring). The staff were helpful and friendly, good location and probably the best hostel we stayed at during our travels in china.

Disliked: Our room key didn't work a few times which was a pest but life! Also beds aren't the softest but this is typical of china

Liked: Very good location : close to south gate with a lot of places to visit. The staff helped us with our luggage which I find friendly. The style of the hostel is quite nice: wooden structure, agencement is well done: bar then lobby then reception then rooms.

Disliked: I went there one night with my girlfriend. We took a private room with double bed. The reception doesn’t accept foreign bank cards. For big suitcases: the cab can drive you right in front of the entrance but the way from the entrance to your room is quite long and there is no lift. The room was very small. We had a bathroom in our room which was disgusting at our arrival (let’s be true: there was urine on the toilet-rim). Our biggest problem was the air conditioning which didn’t work. We complained in a good Chinese and they tried 5 minutes to repair it but they couldn’t and finally let us sweat all night long. A room without air conditioning is absolutely insane in China. There was no window in the room. We move immediately the day after to an hotel 50m further (cheaper with towel-tooth brush-soap-tooth paste and clean).

Liked: The lounge area is very pleasant, room for the dorm is alright. The staff is very helpful and patient.

Disliked: Unfortunately I stay next to shower area where all the pipe noise could hear trough the wall, the bunk bed is abit wobbling so it's makes quite some nice.
