overall, it was a good hostel. however, i did have some problems. i booked a 4 person room and they put me in an 8 person room. they also gave two of us in the room a key to the same locker. the staff was friendly and the facilities were clean. overall, a good value.

It's cheap.
it's a good place to sleep.
The staff knows many interesting locations.
But it's very very very far away from a lot of places.

The atmosphere was very nice, very friendly. Also the location, next to Siquan street, a very lively and traditional street. There is also a WI-FI.

Reasonable location with many buses passing near by and a landmark for directions. Very nice area with good eating options and boutique shopping. Plus a very nice walkway along the canal.

OK, it is central and good value for money. The usual Youth Hostel, and we are happy that they exist, especially in booming cities such as Suzhou. But the rooms are quite small, and the shared toilets and showers could be a bit cleaner. The one in Huangshan city was better for example. Still the staff was helpful, explaining the washing machine or the best way to go to the bus station - not bad considering the tourist turnover in Suzhou. My advise for Suzhou, if you are two or more: take the cheap taxis to visit the sites (or bike). Tours or chartered minivans will take you wherever they want, arguing that a site is too far / expensive and push you to commissioned boats / restaurants ...

nicely decorated, and friendly staff. We were even given free karabiners and pepsi to celebrate their 1st anniversary since opening.

Good location near the gardens.
Room for improvement : ceiling board in bedrooms found to be 'swollen' due to seepage of water I supposed causing a little unslightly if occupying the top level of the double decker bed otherwise, all is fine and acceptable.

Definately its proximity to popular Shiquan Street which is lined with shops, clubs and bars. Free limited internet access was also a bonus.
