Liked: Our room was big and spacious and even had a little kitchen area,

Disliked: It advertised free internet but when we turned up all the computers were broken and said we could go next door, when we tried they refused us because we were foreign. The staff didn't care about this. The beds were hard, The shower only dribbled out water, The hostel is hard to find. We had to be taken there by a policeman. Is situated quite far away from the city centre and all attractions.

Liked: The staff! or at least most of them are wonderful.

Disliked: I guess Shanghai is expensive, but this hostel certainly wasn't amazing value.

Liked: Staff really helpful. Good linen. Showers' pressure a bit low. Good food next door, 24 hour pharmacy, good night photography angles close by. Would recommend Koala any time...

Liked: I absolutely liked everything about this place! the rooms are enormous with internet cable & micrwave. It's rather a hotel than hostel standard, the location is really good by Shanghai standards- only 2 subway stations to the railway station and 5 to the People's Square, the subway entrance is 10 minutes walk away and it very conveniently conected with the center. On the street there are great snacks stalls (especially the soup bar was terrific). The staff was really friendly too. Definitelly I'd stay here again!

Disliked: transparent doors to the bathroom :) - very beautiful design but no privacy

Liked: The interior design made me feel like i'm home!But the water pressure was too low, took longer time to bath for 4 of us!Kaola located at a noisy place, we've waken up by the "HORN" early in the morning, just wonder why Shanghai driver like to HORN???Quite convenient walk to nearest subway station, ZHENPINGLU.

Liked: The hostel was rebuilding, so it was very dusty and unclean, the air conditioning was broken and the shower with not enough water. The staff is friendly, but they know very little english, and I could only communicate well because I had a chinese speaking companion. Anyway, after its rebuilt It looks as it will good, but as it is i unfortunately cannot recommend it.

Liked: The helpful and friendliness of the staff will be the main reason for me to choose this hostel again if I come to Shanghai in future. All the staff are nice and polite, especially Mr Chang and Mr Liu, upon our arrival, without asking, Chang has sent each of us another blanket as the weather is cold. During our 8 days stay, they will provide their service whenever we need, changing bulb, showing direction, finding taxi, help me to transfer my cloth to the dryer (as it was too late) etc. With their help, I have had a easy and wonderful time in Shanghai.

Liked: The rooms were good & catered for all my needs. The staff were friendly & spoke English (which helps alot when your luggage is lost). IIts location is the real China but a bit far from the tube. Really enjoyed my stay

Liked: This hostel like so many other eviews have said is prettu much like a hotel and is great value for money. They have free internet cheap laundry facilities and cooking facities within the room so all in all it was just excellent. As you may have seen in some other reviews the cats smell a little in the reception area which i would have to agree with however unless you are going to live in the reception area which i cant imaine it is not a problem. The rooms are cleaned daily with fresh towels excellent place to stay
