Liked: Brilliant hostel - my favourite in china! Amazing atmosphere with free dumpling nights (where you can make your own and then eat them later), excellent offers on beers and a free beer token for everynight you stay there, has a nightclub/bar downstairs open till very late - brilliant!!

Disliked: expensive laundry service - Thats the only negative i can possibly suggest

Liked: I specially appreciated the atmosphere and character of the bar restaurant, the quality of the food and the friendlyness of the staff.

Disliked: Some lack of cleanliness and toilet paper in the restroom and the front door that always remain opened and make the reception area a bit freezy.

Liked: Great common area to meet people, pool table if that's your thing. Food is tasty, towel rental is available and very cheap. Lots of private showers available and hot water is aplenty! Amazing location, great atmosphere, would defs recommend this place and I'd stay again! Only downside was that staff couldn't really recommend what to do, but that's why you have free wifi and computers to research

Disliked: Staff not super knowledgable of the city. But they helped as best they could

Liked: fantastic location. The atmosphere is extremely comfortable, the stuff hundred percent helpful and the facilities are just as they are offered. Im planning to go back very soon!

Disliked: The prices of the bar are a little bit expensive

Liked: Nice social area, great place to meet new people, cheap beers and passable food - try the club sandwich! Close to all the hot spots in SH, most of the important stuff in walking distance.

Disliked: Horrible beds to sleep in, mattresses caused me to not be able to walk properly after only two days...no change even after requesting to get a new one/ change the room. On the third floor, we recently woke up from people playing pool or listening to music in the lounge....to describe the walls as thin would be an understatement. After overcharging for the room, they agreed to pay back the superfluous amount at check-out, which they then didnt do as it was not written on the receipt. Hostel's got a few good points, however, I will not go there on my next trip to SH.

Liked: Great common area to meet people with reasonably priced drinks. Buy 2 big bottle Tsingtao's and get 1 for free (18 yuan total). This makes the place a bit messy and loud during weekend nights, but that's the fun of it. Walk outside and you'll find numerous cheap authentic restaurant and street vendors so you'll never go hungry. All while being a 5 minute walk to the subway station.

Disliked: some of the rooms are a bit small with no windows so you'll be sleeping in a tunnel of darkness. Ask for a bigger dorm room and/or window dorm. It's the same price. The hallway could also use some more lights.

Liked: it's quite clean and tidy

Disliked: we stayed in hostel for five nights and they had and information on the web site that over three nights of booking the breakfast is free but when we get there they said it's an old information and it doesn't work that way,,,,, additionally thay have a strange procedure of checking rooms at about 10 pm. (we have no idea what for?) and watch out not beeing undressed or naked that time :-) and they clean rooms (just trash baskets) wether you like it or not so keep your staff locked over all we feel that stuff is just doing thair job but don't bother to be nice and friendly.... the lobby with sofas and computers is freezing in winter as noone bother to close the entrance doors - you must wear your jackets and warm clothes as you feel like being outside it's very noisy

Liked: This place is great in comparison to other Chinese places we stayed in. It is very modern with nice new showers and toilets and great lounge area to hang out in. Location is fine just a walking distance from Peoples Square and the Bunt. Would stay again.

Disliked: Our dorm did not have any windows and it was located just opposite the washing room. The place can be very noisy at night as loads of people go out and make a lot of noise. And in winter season the lounge is really cold so makes it difficult to stay longer downstairs. Wifi does not work in evert room as they mention on their website as well.

Liked: The amazing location - A close walk to The Bund, East Nanjing Rd, People's Square, line 2 & 10 on the metro, great restaurants. Met so many incredible people there - Everyone was amazing! It had a great communal area where everyone could bond over pool/ drinks/ smoking really easily.

Disliked: A couple of the girls working there could have been a bit friendlier... Though compared to most customer service in China they were fine.

Liked: Great central location. The place is really really clean, something that is quite unusual on China. They even dressed my bed everyday! Great price and great communal area for meeting people.

Liked: nice room with tv. Spacioius longe where to relax and free Web. Clean and functional.

Disliked: My own room had no ensuite, but showers and toilette end of corridor clean and never crowded. Really No need for ensuite.

Liked: Good sitting areas. Staff spoke good English.

Disliked: The room was small and stuffy - too much damped clothing hanged in room by fellow occupant. The location of hostel is not convenient.

Liked: This hostel has a really nice atmosphere.

Disliked: We booked the luxury room and were very disappointed to find that our room did not look like the one in the picture on the website. It was very nice, but there were two single beds, rather than a queen size as pictured. We are a couple and as our first overseas trip together, we would not have booked this hostel if we knew there would be separate beds.

Liked: Nice backpacker vibe, central location, nice couches in the lounche

Disliked: INTERNET doesn't work properly (very, very slow!), neither the Wifi nor the 2 terminals which are for free. SO DO NOT STAY HERE IF YOU WANT TO USE THE INTERNET!
