Haven't used a hostel for 39 years, and was wonderfully surprised at how good the experience was. Clean, friendly, helpful, alll the things we needed - would recommend it to other senior travellers.

I stayed in the RMB60 room for 6 persons. Clean and in safe area. Very hepful and friendly staff. Very clean bedroom. Toilet and bathroom is separated from sink.

The hostel was truly near to the main tourist sites and convenience stores, food at the bar was also affordable and newly cooked

The staff were really helpfull. The room was ok we stayed in the cheapest 4 bed no window dorm which was fine. The toilets were a bit rank but overall not bad

Staff were very helpful and friendly, bar is chilled place to meet people and play pool, watch dvd's etc, free internet a bonus.

the staff were extremely helpful and maintained their composure under, at times very busy conditions. The pool table though cramped for room was free and provided a good opportunity to meet other guests. It would be worth while providing better cues. The bar was good well priced drinks (open until 2 pm).but the coffee could be a bit cheaper.

clean, friendly, good price, close to the Bund. My room had view of the tripod tv tower and other Pudong skyline. Free internet (but dodgy computers)

I'm an elder hosteler with lots of experience with backpackers, and I thoroughly recommend Mingtown Hikers. The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful, even lending me an umbrella one rainy night. Some drainage problems in toilets & showers, but it was a comfortable place to stay - even in the 6-bed dorm with aircon and shower/toilet.
