Liked: General friendliness and atmoshphere of the place. I arrived in China alone at midnight and within minutes of checking-in, I met lots of friendly people.

Disliked: My only problem was that my locker did not lock properly! However, I never experienced any theft or even heard any stories about security while I've been in Shanghai. But, don't take that for granted!

Liked: We travelled around to many other cities in China, and this was the cleanest and most comfortable of the Youth Hostels that we stayed in throughout our travelling.

Disliked: There could be more facilities like computers for common use in the lobby area.

Liked: Great atmosphere, perfect location.

Disliked: The food in the restaurant. It says on the business card that they have dvd, but they don't. The beds are uncomfortable.

Liked: I haven't stayed in a hostel in yrs...I am a..very young 41 and want to pay for the slightly higher hotels, but this experience was so nice ---it makes me rethink that I can still to the hostel and it not feel too hippyish or dirty!

Disliked: the key card was a bit of a new...thing and a hassle...

Liked: It is really close to the subway, and main shopping street, you couldn't wish for a better location, even if the street is dirty, loud and smells badly, but this is Shanghai after all. Free washers and dryers a great advantage.

Disliked: Some of the rooms have no windows, and I hate that they don't allow outside food or drinks in their sitting area, that is such a big no no for a hostel!!!!! Especially an expensive one in an expensive town.

Liked: The location is great. its a short walk to the bund and a metro stop.

Disliked: the staff wasn't that helpful. the dorms are mixed so my last night i had this creepy guy in my room and they told me they couldnt do anything about cuz they were booked. and breakfast didnt start til 8 and the kitchen closed by 9pm so that was kinda annoying. but its a nice place.

Liked: Nice atmosphere, nice location and the rooms where clean and nice. The whole place was modern and had a European feel to it. A little pricey but average price for the expo season in Shanghai. Best of all the washing machine and dryer are free to use!

Disliked: I didn't have any problems.

Liked: AH-MAZ-ING!! Its so luxurious for a backpackers hostel, I walked right past it thinking it couldnt be the right place! Really really recommend it to anyone staying in Shangai.

Disliked: The staff were great but perhaps they need more in the front reception, there was one guy who seemed to be doing all the work.

Liked: Good facilities, bed was comfortable, very cheap - I will come back again!!

Disliked: There was a lot of noise with drilling and noise at about 6am which preventing me sleeping.

Liked: Great location downtown within walking distance to a major subway station and the Bund. I stayed for one night in a four-bed room which seemed to be smaller than average, but overall the hostel was well-equipped, clean and secure. The staff seemed chill.

Liked: Great location, near the Bund and Nanjing Road. At night a little bit too noisy. But definetly worth the money!

Liked: The dorm room without windows is a bit musty smelling but that's to be expected. Generally I had no complaints about this place because I only stayed for one night but if I was staying in Shanghai longer, I would probably prefer staying somewhere a little cleaner and newer.
