Liked: clean, friendly, good price, close to the Bund. My room had view of the tripod tv tower and other Pudong skyline. Free internet (but dodgy computers)

Liked: I'm an elder hosteler with lots of experience with backpackers, and I thoroughly recommend Mingtown Hikers. The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful, even lending me an umbrella one rainy night. Some drainage problems in toilets & showers, but it was a comfortable place to stay - even in the 6-bed dorm with aircon and shower/toilet.

Liked: Small but clean dorm space, room availability was good, helpful staff. Be great if they closed the door between bar and common space to keep the noise and smoke level contained.

Liked: Common room and restaurant/bar had great, cheap food and were an excellent place to meet people. Rooms were clean and bathrooms were also clean. Good strong air conditioning. Price is great. However, at least a 15 minute walk to the subway. No elevators in hostel, so pack light. Wifi and internet access were great.
