Liked: Nothing

Disliked: We didn´t get what we have paid for.

Liked: The close proximity to beautiful areas of Hangzhou, west of the lake. We were surrounded by greenery and the little nearby community was friendly.

Disliked: There were only 4 single bathrooms for all of the guests, about 40 people. They were booked beyond capacity with tents on the property. The noise level was bad, no effort was made to control the noise level at night.

Liked: It was a nice neighbourhood and the bed rooms are alright.

Disliked: The bath room is horrible. The persons in this hostel hardly speak and understand English. The location of the hostel is at the last end of the town, it takes you about 25mins by cab to get into town and around 15 to get to the lake. Also, cabs are either not willing to drive there since it is too far from the city centre or just don't know how to get there. The hostel can't really provide any help to you except renting bikes, boworing umbrellas or selling toilette paper.

Liked: Friendliness and assisstance from the staff was very good, plenty of information on local area, where to get the bus etc. Good knowledge on restaurants in the city.

Disliked: Cleanliness was poor, the room was only cleaned after we had arrived. On arrival it took them about 10 minutes to locate our reservation despite my having a print out of my booking. The location shown on the map is not correct, the hostel is located the opposite side of the lake to what is shown.

Liked: Cheap hostel, that always good.The room was fine, good aircon and cleanness.

Disliked: None of the staff spoke english. The location was too far from the city center and the lake. Madresses was hard as rock. we only slept well when we vere drunk. The toilet/bathroom was a nasty experience. Bad smell, worn down and no proper ventilation.

Liked: Nothing much

Disliked: Very dirty, it need cleaning all over, no towels for a private room, cant even be hired. Staff dont speak any english. It is a long way from the railway station. Nobody knew we were coming even though we booked through hostel bookers. It is cheap but we have stayed at far better hostels for the same money

Liked: Location near temples and West Lake, staff offered us free food one evening. No traffic althoug construction site and barking dogs nearby. Restaurants and grocery stores near.

Liked: It is in a nice setting away from the hustle and busle of the city as it is in the mountain. The internet is fast but only one computer so you may have to wait a while and you will need to wrap up as the front doors are kept open all the time.

Liked: It was quiet. I woke up to a dawn chorus and a cockerel crowing! There were no cars or motorways nearby; definitely a far cry from my home in Shanghai!If you're looking for peace and quiet, this is it.

Liked: It was located far from the West Lake and other tourist attractions (although it was close to the Lingyin temple), also very difficult to find. I was supposed to be in a four bed room, but they put me in a 6 bed room, and at midnight, when I was trying to get some sleep, they had apparently over-booked and so they set up 2 cots in the middle of the room. It ended up being an 8 bed room.
