Liked: It was a nice hostel. Pretty clean. The place is a bit hard to find since they don't post a map on the hostelbookers site.

Liked: The staff was always available, friendly. I loved the pregnant cat on the counter. The two computers here are really slow, the connection, I mean, but I guess the W-Lan is okay. At least there were no complaints from the people with notebooks. The place is great. And for about 5 US-Cent you can cross the Pearl-River and step off right at Shamian Island. Wonderful. Ferry in front of your YHA!

Liked: Booked for one night, stayed for three. Really nice new hostel with friendly, helpful staff; nice location, next to the river, and superb value for money wontons and noodles from the bar. Only downside was that the dorms (which were new and spacious) smelled a bit damp..not sure if that was because the weather was pretty dreary when I was there. But overall, a really nice hostel.

Liked: I stayed there on two different occasions.The hostel has a nice location, just next to the local ferry jetty with small ferries going towards town or to Shamian Island just across the river.They have Chinese guests as well as foreign ones which gave the place a nicer touch than having foreigners only.

Liked: You can meet a lot of people there.The hostel is clean ,cheap and you have everything you need(internet ,beer ,helpfull staff).Hostel is quite far away from metro station ,but is very close to the river.Room is big and clean.

Liked: Excellent location (on a bar street and very central, although I didn't get disturbed by any noise) and lovely room although not THAT cheap (you can get a very, very nice hotel for not a lot more money if you are staying in a private room here). Generally friendly staff although one person who "helped" us acted as if she'd rather be doing anything else. As with most HI places everything you'd need for travelling.

Liked: I like this hostel very much, as I can get to know a lot of new friend there. The staffs there also very helpful, polite and nice. This hostel provide very big space in room and very clean. Up to now, this is the bigest room I had been stayed in my trip.

Liked: It is a nice place, but they should do anything against the smelly problems and the rats inside the canalisation. And for wintertime they should offer some heaters.

Liked: The street where the hostel is located is great for night life. The old town is across the river only 0.5 y for crossing.Most of the staff speeks some english.Rooms are large and tall, the common areas are great.It is OK to stay a couple days, Guanzhou is bigger than you think, not a very elegant city, however it has many great spots. The entire Shamian island is under renovation, so if you come here in a year or so it will look great.
