Liked: Good standard of room, hot water, great location on the river front

Disliked: No heating - room very cold on our first couple of nights - we were told by reception that Guangzhou doesn't get cold so they dont need heating! I beg to differ!

Liked: Cheap beer, friendly staff, good location next to the Pearl River. Great place to meet other travellers! Delicious food... 100% recommended. Women ai Guangzhou he Riverside Youth Hostel! PS: Drink Vitasoy responsibly!

Liked: Very clean and comfortable double room with TV, internet and a great hot shower! The hostel had the facilities and socialness of a YHA with hotel-like rooms. The food in the restaurant was also really good for a hostel. They were the busiest hostel we've stayed at in China in the low season.

Disliked: There wasn't much to dislike. There is no heating in the hostel (including the rooms) but Guangzhou isn't cold enough for long enough to warrant it perhaps? They also didn't have the must up-to-date information about travel over the Chinese New Year period but we figured it out ourselves at the bus station.

Liked: Great location. nice space. convenient, near subway.

Disliked: wish it has a real kitchen and i can cook. there's only a microwave. no plates, bowls, can't make coffee either.

Liked: Good Location, pretty cheap for Guangzhou

Disliked: Concrete floors and no aircon so the window was opened in my dorm room and alot of mosquitoes came in through the night

Liked: Superb staff, great lunches/dinners, huge personal boxes, wonderful lobby, great environment, bathrooms in the dorms... definitely the best hostel I have stayed in!

Disliked: Only the beds are a little rusty. :)

Liked: Very good location, friendly staff, good common rooms to meet other travelers, nice, clean and well priced rooms. Had a very cute adopted hostel cat too!

Liked: The location was great, right by the riverside as the hostel name indicates. There is a great communal lounge area and we had some great nights drinking cheap beer in the outdoor seating area. We would recommend taking the ferry at least once to cross to the other side of Guangzhou. Our room was spacious and clean. The bar offers cheap local beer, at least cheaper than we were managing to find in nearby shops.

Disliked: The street outside our room was noisy and there was a dog that barked a lot. The bathroom floor flooded every time we used it but it was still a decent shower. One of the bathroom ceiling panels fell down while we were in there.

Liked: Nice rooms, very clean and modern. The riverside rooms have balconies (but a little bit more noisy)

Disliked: A weird smell in the bathroom, although it was very clean. Little bit noisy, wooden bed

Liked: I stayed in a single room. It's clean, as well as the toilet. The area was not too busy, it's near to the metro and very convenient.

Liked: Great location on the riverside on the clubbing street. There is many small shops with anything you need around hostel.

Liked: Location is nice, right on the river.

Disliked: My bunk bed broke while I was in it. The bed was very unstable and obviously unsafe as it actually collapsed. It was also very expensive compared to other areas of China. No lockers in the dorms.

Disliked: Two-bed room rates higher than other hotels in the city due to lack of facilities such as refrigerator, shampoo or shower cap. There has only bad smell shower cream and towels. Also, bed was not clean. We were itching and redness may caused by the dust or small insects on bed.

Liked: The staff were very friendly and willing to help us with any questions we had. This was by far one of the cleanest and quietest hostels I have ever stayed in.

Disliked: The quiet location, while close to a metro stop, is not on a road taxis drive on. If you want a taxi, you need to carry all your things a few blocks to a main road--we wanted a taxi because we had a lot of bags! Also, I would have liked the description of the hostel to include characters--it's impossible to ask for directions or take a cab without them! I had emailed the hostel with a question about our reservation, which was answered quickly. But when I sent an important follow-up question 5 days before our visit, I never got a reply.

Liked: I have used hostel service many times but this one is the worse, I really want River Yha to improve facilities. I do expect that the hostel under hostelbooker should have a lot higher standard than this

Liked: it is cheap, but I don't find it is cheaper than the accomodation beside this hostel, the next side hostel is more better price and cheaper than this Jiang pan hostel (riverside). The other hostel beside, is much more friendly

Disliked: It is quite dark, and I were given room with very edge side, while the room with near / more easier go downstair is empty and no guess. No tissue or soap available at room. No tv entertainment channel available.

Liked: The hostel is far from town but the metro station is about 10min away and you can get the ferry. Staff were not the most helpful. Room was very basic and have a long walk to get there from the lobbey!

Liked: Right on the river and their is a nice walk along the river with great views. There is also a street market at night that is only 2 blocks away. The subway is a 5 minute walk and you are two stops from the bus station and two stops from another great downtown area.

Disliked: It could have had more character I guess.

Liked: Good place to meet interesting people. Location is also good. Street with fruits and food and shopping is just a few minutes by walk. And a lot of night bars close also.Don't be shy to try dorm - it's really clean. Free Wi-Fi. Sure I will recommend this place for stay other travelers.

Disliked: It could be a little bit cheaper but anyway all accommodation in big cities in China is expensive, I don't know why.
