Liked: Max and Traci were such fantastic hosts and really made my stay in Dali special. The facilities are absolutely first class and I highly recommend you stay there - better than some 5 star hotels I have stayed in for the welcome!!!

Liked: Absolutely fantastic hostel.The staff are very freindly and helpful, and the place has the most homely feel that I have experienced in 5 months about Asia. It is a little walk from the main area of the town, which meens that it is nice and quiet, but there would be more central locations. HOWEVER - It is well worth the extra walk!!!!Could not reccomend this place highly enough.

Liked: The most beautiful hostel, more like an exclusive small hotel. we've been to in China. The rooms are very nice, with great beds and wooden furniture, big balconies and a really nice garden with a pond. The staff is great, they know a lot about the area and give really good tips about things to do other than the most popular ones. Totally recommended.

Liked: We had a really good stay at the sleepy fish lodge. Good beds, showers and other facilities and also a good breakfast service.Would definitly recommend this place to other people!

Liked: We had a pleasant stay at the Sleepy Fish Lodge, warm welcome by Max and Tracy and the dogs. Location is good, next to the new east gate and a few minutes from the centre of Ancient City. The owners have a lot of knowledge on the sights in and around Dali. We got good tips on were to eat, go and mountainbike. Breakfast is excellent, try the pancakes! The Room was nice, spacious and clean. Every room has a balcony and there is a nice garden to relax. We would certainly recommend this place to anyone.

Liked: Staff is awesome, very helpful and friendly. Room was nice. Breakfast is a great deal: 12 RMB for two items (you choose) plus coffee or tea. but the owner, max, said she will be adjusting prices soon, so hurry!

Liked: The best thing about Sleepyfish is its atmosphere. Located on the edge of the Cangshang mountains, it is wonderfully refreshing to wake up and breathe mountain air. Add to that the comfortable, clean rooms, and the helpfulness and accomodation made by the owners, this place is perfect for a holiday. Quality is in all aspects of the lodge, and for me that says it all! If u are looking for a great holiday lodge at a great price, Sleepyfish Lodge is the place!

Liked: The rooms are spacious and comfortable, with good hot showers. Max and Tracy were so friendly and helpful, and took time to explain excursions and buses etc. The atmosphere is relaxed and positive, and the two golden retrievers are adorable. My sons (age 10 and 13) really enjoyed their visit, and wanted to stay longer. Sleepyfish certainly made us feel at home. We used the hostel kayak, there are also bikes to hire, and the breakfast was excellent - really set us up for the day. My husband was delighted with the internet access, and was able to follow the final Ashes Test match! The Benson Family
