David BanksDave and Song are excellent, friendly and very helpful hosts. The hostel is very set up to accomodate foreign guests with English language TV, free DVDs, tour info and anything else you might need. The facility is new and extremely clean and is located just across the street from the West Wall of Dali so it is convenient but very quiet. I recommend it highly. |

susanne dahmBest hostel we stayed in during a 5 week trip: Really large and very new rooms (to hotel standard really); spotless and with large beds. bathroom large and super clean as well. Staff very friendly and courtyard good area to meet people and play pool. Overall a very relaxed atmosphere. Food was also excellent with a choice of chinese and western breakfast and dinner. location just outside the old city walls. would have loved to stay longer. |

Lars LampeThe staff helped us to get our visa extension within a day, instead a week. We didn't even had to ask them, they just did it when they heart us talking about our problem. The facilities like dart, computers and pool table are really nice and in a great condition. The rooms are really spacious, the bunk beds are queen-size and the owner Dave even thought of installing plugs in the security lockers. Another plus, they sell affordable Beer Lao and real coffee here. But if you're looking for a party hostel instead of a chill-out one, this will be the worng place for you. Otherwise, one of the best hostels I stayed in so far. |

Customer reviewThe dorms are awesome. They have huge double bed bunk beds and a pool table which is fun. The only really annoying thing is that it's more a guesthouse than hostel. The owner lives here with his family. After midnight, you have to move into the small common room and even then, we got yelled at about 5 different times by the owner for talking too loudly and it was my friend's birthday so we just wanted to relax. We moved into our own dorm with our other friends and again, we got yelled at. Also, the kitchen staff just decide what they want to make and when. My friend ordered food 15 minutes before me and then they told me the kitchen would only make me french fries. This was 4 pm. The property is gorgeous and the best dorms I've ever seen. Just wish the owner could be a little more relaxed about minor late-night fun. |

Jonathan RogersVery impressed with this hostel. The private room is the best we have had in China (lovely white bathroom, TV, WIFI, and immaculately clean. Hotel standard really). The staff were friendly, and the atmosphere was relaxed. The building is picturesque and rooms at the back have fantastic views of the mountains. 5 minute walk to Dali Old Town. The owners certainly have everything right here, a really great stay for us! |

Yinhwa WangSpotless floor, quiet enviornment, large room, clean facilities. Best part of it was the owner, David, was on premise every day to monitor the business and attend to every customer's needs. Capable staff handle booking effeciently without a glitch. Staff know their own job assignments. You can tell a good, working system was implemented by the owner to ensure every aspect of the hostel business runs smoothly. I Will definitely recommend it to everyone. |

Jonathan LumbLovely place - very friendly staff and is very well thought out. You can even charge your valuables (cameras, phones, etc) inside your security lockers! Thoroughly enjoyed my stay and not far outside the Old Town at all. Stay here, you won't regret it! |
