Liked: The location is about as central as one could get, 10 min walk from Tianfu Sq. and just off RenminNanLu (the main street). It is very quiet,,,too quiet, I had problems waking up in the morning! The staff all speak good English and are very helpful. Plenty of "old world" atmosphere.

Disliked: Nothing.

Liked: Guesthouse in the traditional Chinese style. Quiet and cozy. Very convenient location! The staff is very helpful, friendly and always willing to help!

Liked: Nice environment, friendly and helpful staff. We also like the Traditional Chinese body massage which was offer by the Sam guest house. Love the spacious room as well!~

Disliked: It not that we dislike but just to suggest maybe the room and the toilet can be renovated or refurnish as its an old building. Especially the toilet.

Liked: Nice location.

Disliked: We booked a double room on two seperate occasions and when we arrived at the hostel we were told that they had no rooms for us. We were put in the hotel next door on the first occasion which was OK but cost us extra money. The second time they managed to find us a twin room however it had obviosuly not been cleaned since the last guests as there was still excriment in the toilet. We complained that this was simply not acceptable and we were again put in the hotel next door. The staff are friendly but organisation is lacking.

Liked: Really enjoyed my stay at Sam's, the staff were excellent, really helpful and speak very good english, rooms were tidy and the hotel itself is very nice, quiet with a tea garden to relax in, location is good too. Booked 2 further nights later on and would definately use again.

Liked: We got to a small room because they didnt have ours available, but we paid a lo less so that was fine! staff are really really friendly, possibly the friendliest and most helpful weve encountered in our 6months of travelling! locations pretty good, when the metro does finallly open, it will be an excellent location as it is just down the road!They arranged our tour to the panda research base, possibly one of the best value for money tours we've done. they sold us the 'gold panda card' for Y10 which gets you free entry to loads of places, and it also means you dont have to pay Y58 for the panda base. We got about 3hrs there to walk around as we wanted - was a great day out!!Free internet was great, would highly recommend this place!

Liked: Great location in the very centre of Chengdu (at the same time the Shaanxi Jie is a very quiet street). The staff speaks good English and is very helpful and competent. The rooms are very big. The garden in the courtyard is a very nice place to chat.
