Located in the heart of Beijing, the Jade International Youth Hostel has the international traveller in mind. You’ll notice from the first moment that our Hostel has a very unique “east meets west” style. The rich marble floors, fresh flowers, and traditional Chinese decor in the foyer are enhanced by the vast skylight above.

We’re very near the axis line of Beijing from which Beihai Park, the Imperial Palace, the Forbidden City, and Jingshan Park can be seen in the near distance. Also, the quiet Huangcheng Relic Park and the prosperous Wangfujing Shopping Street can be reached by foot within minutes.

That's the Chinese Lunar New Year, the most important festival around the whole year. The family get reunion, make dumplings and have dinner together, and let off the firework to welcome the new year. The dumpling is the traditional food for the Spring Festival, it looks like the "Yuan Bao",the money has been used at before, means fortune and good luck for the next year.

Do you want to know something about the festival and feel the atmosphere with guest from all over the world? Would you like to try to make dumplings by yourself and then taste it?

Just come to Jade Hostel to have a wonderful festival time. We would make dumplings with guest who stay here at that time, of course, that's free of charge.

Location Information

With its central location (just a 10 minute walk from the east gate of the Forbidden City) you can reach almost everything by foot. A 5 minute walk east and you’ll be in shopping heaven at the Wangfujing Shopping Street. Experience the famous Donghuamen Night Market which is highly recommended by the publication Lonely Planet, or take in the Beijing Opera which is put on every evening accompanied with english subtitles. Many small side streets called “Hutongs” are scattered throughout Beijing. These Hutongs have many stores, restaurants, coffee & tea shops, and walk-up windows with a wide variety of foods to sample. Take a rickshaw ride through the bar area known as “HouHai” which has a very festive atmosphere. Or take a romantic tour down the river on an old fashioned gondola.
