Liked: It was the cleanest hostel I have stayed at so far and the staff were very helpful. They informed me what tours I should do with a group or how to get to others that they recommend by using public transportation. I would stay there again if I ever go back to Beijing.

Disliked: There was construction working since they are improving rooms (but I knew this from reading there reviews and decided to stay anyways which I am glad I did). The bathrooms smell which is not pleasant but nothing a spray or deodorizer wouldn't fix. And, if you go to Lee's Café in their courtyard, the pizza listed with a picture of a pizza is in fact a quesadilla.

Liked: The second floor of the bar is fantastic, buying one local draft beer and get one free and siting on the second floor, talk and feel the night breeze, very cool!!

Disliked: This moment is rebuilding, so maybe the noise is not ok.

Liked: Nothing. I would not stay here again.

Disliked: No laundry service was available when I asked. Staff said the washing machine was broken. Front desk staff were unable to arrange taxi pick-up. Although the food menu had a lot of dish choices, only a small number were actually possible to get. Front desk staff did not tell me at check-in time that construction work was going on in the courtyard. It was ugly-looking with loud drilling and hammering noise from 8am and dangerous (who wants to trip over a pile of building materials when returning home at night). Bar staff were sullen and unhelpful. During a power cut, they refused to supply candles and told us we could not order another round of drinks because they were shutting the bar instead. Another guest told us that his locker key could open all the lockers in his dorm room (he discovered this by mistake). Only 2 computers in the bar- one was completely broken, the other partly broken. Internet speed was frustratingly slow.

Liked: Rooms spacious, food good.

Disliked: The noise! There were signs up apologising for any "inconvenience" caused by the building work which they had going on, but that didn't explain the apparent need to start it so early in the morning. Some other guests mentioned this to the receptionist and asked if they could possibly refrain from starting until later in the morning - they did for one day, but the day after that they were even earlier than before, using a pneumatic drill outside the rooms at 7am!The building work didn't explain the nocturnal singsongs either - there's a time and a place for singing a selection of Queen's greatest hits, but 12.30am in a hostel courtyard well within earshot of the dorms isn't it. Don't stay here if you want to sleep!

Liked: The location was good since it was located in the Hutong districts. Just a few minutes to the main road and it was nice to be in a quiet surrounding.

Liked: Near the metro station. Soap and shampoo in the bathroom. Curtains to keep privacy for the above beds. Nice place on the roof.

Disliked: A little far from bars and restaurants, few restaurants around. 7:00AM the noise of renovations.

Liked: It was a good location. far enough away from the road that it wasn't too noisy, but close to subway stations and I walked to tiannanmen square! it was small enough to have a nice atmosphere. and the upstairs dining area was really nice, loved the round chairs :)

Disliked: The lock on the door was difficult to open. not much really.

Liked: The hostel is very close to the metro station and they have a nice bar/common area. I stayed in the 6-bed dorm and they provided a towel, shampoo, shower gel and soap for washing your hands in the shared bathroom (I know that might sound basic to you but after almost a month in china I have made the experience that you can't take these things for granted at all when staying in a dorm room).I booked the tour to the great wall (Mutianyu) with them and everything went fine.

Disliked: Wifi only in the common area.

Liked: The room had air-con, lockers and a private bathroom which made for a very comfortable stay. The central courtyard and bar were great places to hang out and meet people and the staff were all so lovely and helpful with everything from booking train tickets to organising tours; you couldn't want for more! The hostel is very close to the metro and an easy walk to shops, bars, banks, eateries and there are many nearby Hutongs to explore.

Disliked: If people come back late you'll be able to hear them in the courtyard and the rooms are fairly basic, but at £5 a night it's still an absolute bargain!

Liked: Great location, down a quiet street a few minutes walk from the metro. Many convenience shops along the nearby high street. Friendly staff. Wifi works well (no Facebook). Nice bar/cafe area to hang out. The food is variable, overpriced compared with other china hostels. Don't bother with the 'muesli' - a bowl of fruit with less than a teaspoon of oats sprinkled on top!

Disliked: I (a girl) was in a room full of noisy and dirty boys. Why no girls only dorm?! Don't stay here if you want to get some sleep. I stayed for 5 nights and was woken up at various times of the night every single night.
