Liked: While I was there in June, I didn't find this hostel particularly energetic or buzzing with travellers. Nor does it contain a true bar area. However, its character, with a large interior courtyard, and location in a hutong area, make it a much more authentic--even meditative--environment than many of the other hostels I have stayed at in China.

Liked: it was a nice and friendly hostel, that had a traditional chinese decorated indoor court.The personal was nice and the service great. For a chinese hostel it was very clean. it was worth it's money. ;)

Liked: The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The atmosphere was informal, and relaxed and there was no disruptive noise late at night. There was lots of information about tours etc and internet and laundry services. The rooms were immaculately clean. It was a little hard to find but ok in the end. The location was great, close to a lake and in the edge of the hutongs.

Liked: top class - even down to being able to get an English breakfast - nothing was too much trouble for staff - double room excellent.

Liked: It is a beautiful old houton, which uses it's central courtyard as a communal area. I met very nice people staying there and it offers private rooms for hostel prices

Liked: The double beds were huge! closer to american king size i think. I was in the east yard - the room just felt very clean.

Liked: i liked the buildings and the atmosphere, the courtyard style is very nice and unpretentious. Most of the staff were nice but there were a couple of exceptions. Also the common room was quite lively.

Liked: We enjoyed our stay so much we extended it for three more days. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. The food was good and the rooms were very nice. They have three hostels close to each other and we stayed at the one with the private double rooms and private baths, very nice!
