Liked: Its location is good, near to the centre of Beijing, with pleanty of fruit markets and local stores within walking distance. Local restuarants are also plentiful. The bus services are at both ends of the huton and good, but you will need to buy a bus pass and get an itinary in Pinyin from the hostel desk. All bus stops ,and other signs, are in Pinyin, as well as characters. There is also a useful underground station nearby. The hostel staff were helpful and run good services to the Great Wall and Beijing Opera, Kung Fu etc.

Liked: The quiet and safe atmosphere as it is inside Hutong.It has a free internet access.(It often does not work, though.)One thing I did not like was that the bathroom was not very clean.

Liked: The atmosphere was very hostal and unpleasant! The staff did not really speak english, so communicating with them was hard and they did not seem to make any effort trying to help us.

Liked: Good position - very close to subway and a few well priced restaurants in the neighbouring hutongs.I booked a single room which I felt was a little substandard as it did not have a phone in the room as I had expected (and needed).They shifted me into a double room the next day (which had the required phone) at the same price.I was pleased with the new room and the response to my complaint.If travelling to China keep in mind that double rooms are often much better appointed than single rooms in the same hotel.Overall, I think this hostel offers good value for money and I would be happy to stay there again (in the double room).

Liked: One of the staff members is friendly (the girl with the bangs in the morning), and the second room that we stayed in didn't leak feces from the toilet into the showering area. The bedroom was really clean though and the location is great.
