Liked: ok

Disliked: It is not really a hostel the dormitories is just one unique room with 6 beds, so availability can change to zero in a minute, while you drink your coffee, and you find yourself kicked out to the street or you are asked to pay for private rooms, which is the main business for them.

Liked: The only problem I had was the room heater. I stay

Disliked: I stayed here in January, Beijing's winter. Outside it was below freezing, usually -8c. All the outdoor toes were therefore very cold, and so were the vehicle rides to and back. When I got to my room I wanted the heater to stay on. It operated by remote control, and only stayed on about 10 minutes at a time. I went to the front desk because I couldnt figure out how to call from my room even though my room had a phone. The hostess explained the buttons, but I still couldn't make the heater stay on. I complained again and a maintenance person who couldn't speak English showed up and simply did what I had already been doing. So, sometimes the room was warm, other times it was cold. This became a problem at night as I woke up when the room got too cold to turn the heat back on.

Liked: The location is perfect for shopping (WangFujing), for visiting (Tiananmen), close to a metro station (10min walk), I had a single room, with round bed and mirrors on the ceiling, quite fun. The bathroom was clean, no bad surprises, and the room was cleaned during the day.

Disliked: As a frequent traveller and used to moving around as a backpacker, nothing comes to my mind, maybe some noise from other rooms, could be a slight problem if you are easily disturbed in your sleep.

Disliked: dirty of the bed, bugs bite me, very itched for 5 days, over my body, i went to pharmcy, the staff suggest the local cream

Liked: Cheap internet access and free wi-fi available. The hostel bar had a good selection of food and drinks at good prices. The daily offers on food and drink was a bonus. Being within walking distance of the Forbidden City was great too.

Disliked: The shower had nothing to prevent the whole bathroom being flooded when you used it.

Liked: located in the center of city and near from interseting places, subway and bus station. The hostel also near from Donglai Shun Muslim Restaurant.

Disliked: we booked for double bed private room, but they give us twin bed. but it's still ok for us.

Liked: Excellent service! Just love to stay in "Beijing Forbidden City Hostel. It’s far from my expectation, so clean, orderly and cozy; the mere fact the room which I reserved for my family is just a dorm type (4 beds) Ensuite. The bed mattresses are comfy with fresh white linens. The bathroom is big and very clean with 24 hours hot shower. I highly recommend this wonderful hostel to all travelers who wish to see Beijing, China. It’s worth the money I paid for 4 days stay. Likewise, security is great and no doubt about it. Very honest staff. All the hotel crews are so kind, nice and very friendly. To mention the names of 3 frontline ladies, Mses. Joanna, Catherine and Denny, I salute them for their job well done. They speak English well enough and did their best to explain and answer all the queries about directions of the places we want to see either by bus or taxi, as well as fares. These 3 ladies did everything to help ensure our stay as memorable as possible. I may say they are asset to the hostel. I will surely come back again to this lovely hostel sometime next year. Just a teaser for those who wish to visit Beijing, China – BEIJING FORBIDDEN CITY HOSTEL is one of the best hostels to stay in because it is ideally located in the heart of downtown Beijing and right in the middle of the main sightseeing area. Everything is just a few minutes away by foot from the Forbidden City, Tian'anmen Square and Wangfujing Business Shopping Center where everyone can enjoy a vast array of sumptuous traditional Chinese food at affordable price. I rate this hostel (1 to 10) is 10.Thumbs UP!!

Disliked: Nothing ! Its understandable English language is far from Chinese vocabularies.

Liked: Nothing

Disliked: They over book hostel and they didn't have rooms that we book. We had to sleep in different room. I sleep one night in dorm and they had only one key to 6 persons dorm.

Liked: nice and cheap. friendly staff. they show the world cup on a projector.

Disliked: my room smelled like formaldehyde, i had to ask for soap and towels, and at one point a cockroach crawled over my arm.

Liked: it is more a hotel, that is very nice for couples, like we are.but if you want to meet people there are better places?it is very clean, the staff is very friendly?the location is near restaurants and big shopping street, but the subway is 15 min walk.the last we found out that bus line 2 stops infront the subway? so please use this information if you don't want to walk so far?you will walk anyway because beijing is BIG!

Liked: Exellent location (short walk away from Tianmen square, Forbidden City and Wukesang shopping street). Staff spoke good english and were helpful. Also the change to book different tours was nice, I went to the Great Wall hiking trip, price was about 385 RMB (including breakfeast&lunch). I don't have anything bad to say about the place.

Liked: La cordialitaì del personale, cercano di mettere gli ospiti a proprio agio! E' gia' la quinta volta che vengo in questo albergo e, a distanza di due mesi, si ricordavano acnora di me. Il personale del bar è molto piacevole e cordiale. LA connessione a internet garantita e gratuita. Assaggiate il latte macchiato... una schiuma perfetta da far invidia ai migliori bar italiani!!!
