Liked: Generally a good hostel, hot shower, comfy bed, staff answered any questions I had.

Disliked: Room was a tad cramped, but considering the price was not a major issue.

Liked: The hostel was very clean. They have a nice bar area with food and drinks available almost all day long. The staff was very friendly. They only have two shared bathrooms but I didn't have to wait for a shower once during my whole trip.

Liked: The location of this hostel is it's main selling point! Right on top of Tian'anmen sqaure/forbidden city and 5 mins walk to the underground station.

Disliked: A little cold, but we did visit in Feb so I guess this is understandable.

Liked: Sunrise is central to everything a tourist wants in Beijing. Fast free wifi that works in the the rooms, very hot water for showers, helpful staff and a good atmosphere. I booked a bed in a 6-bed dorm but was given a 2-bed private for same price. Very convenient for the metro to pretty much anywhere. Heating in the rooms and bar was good (important in winter!), and I slept well.

Disliked: Nothing.

Liked: Very friendly and helpful staff! Gave me feeling of homeliness! I booked a bed in a six beds room, but was offered, for same price, a bed in a two beds room! (And I could have it for myself all my stay.) Even when extended my stay with two extra nights! I really like the location: Just some minutes walking to forbidden city! About cleanliness: Not perfect, but good. The toilet/shower rooms had no bad smell. I will certainly sleep here next stay in Beijing. :-)

Disliked: Atmosphere and character in ”my” room, could be better. One more lamp, and somewhere to hang your cloths and stuff. About the collective washbasin, in the corridor. Extra light over the mirror would be nice! Now it's a little dark when shaving. Also time for freshen up the wall around mirrors and over washbasin. And some other small things... But not a big deal.

Liked: LOCATION!!! as well Staff very helpful, friendly, seems to be the only people speaking English in the whole city! Saw the building was cleaning very often, good breakfast as well.

Liked: The location is great . We have walked to the Forbidden City and the Tiananmen Square. The staff are quite friendly and they were giving good advices for spending the time. Also the food served was quite good.

Disliked: The bathroom was not very clean.

Liked: Excellent Location, so close to the main attractions! Staff (esp. John) were welcoming and friendly. Room was a good size and food served in the cafe was good (once it arrived!!).

Disliked: Food service took 45 mins to 1 hour every time we ordered (even for simple food). Staff gave incorrect information (i.e. No bus to the Temple of Heaven, when the number 2 goes directly outside the hostel!). Bar area was good, but music was played so loudly you could barely think, let alone talk to others. It's a good place, but a few small changes could make it excellent.

Liked: The location was awesome!!!! The people were friendly, the food was affordable. The walking map with locations and subway stops was great, and the staff gave pretty excellent directions. Everything was comfortable and clean, the ambiance with pictures and notes from guests was cute and gave the place a warm feel. I really enjoyed my stay there, a ten minute walk to Tiananmen really made the trip excellent.

Disliked: There is a less expensive way to get to the BaDaLing part of the Great Wall (go to the bus station and take bus 919 or 877 to Badaling, 12 yuan one way. maybe a one hour bus ride and there are Ming Tombs there as well), having that info available would have been nice, as the hostel offered tour information, but nothing on their list was under 100yuan. This may be considered a bit excessive, but some brief info on some quick Chinese cultural tips such as bartering and taxi drivers trying to cheat you may be helpful to foreigners visiting the hostel in the future. Most don't understand bartering culture and can cause a scene or seriously offend Chinese people in places like some parts of the night market where bartering is acceptable. Most taxi drivers don't cheat you, but some will, and giving people a quick review of the taxi system and how taxi drivers(legitimate and illigitimate alike) do occasionally hang out on corners or at bus stops acting helpful but really intend to cheat you or direct you incorrectly so you will use their overpriced services. A TV Channel guide and cleaner bathroom shower slippers would have been ideal, but it wasn't a big deal. No major complaints, I had a great time!
