Liked: It's really located in the heart of city where a short walking distance to most shopping and travel spots. Free Wi-Fi where I could keep in touch with my family.

Disliked: Room smells one kind when entering. Bed is not so comfy coz was old.

Liked: The location was great and the staff very helpful. I would like to say that it appeared that our booking through HostelBookers hadn't reached the hostel for some reason or it had been misplaced. fortunately they had room so it wasn't an issue. Might be worth checking how a booking is sent and received for future reference.

Liked: The shower is in the toilet with a limited amount of hot water in the overhead tank. - gives a ghetto experience feel par excellence. Drainage system gives out a strange smell in the toilet - probably due to the connection to the local hutong area system. Changed rooms about 4 times in 9 days and didn't really seem to help. The owner and john were very helpful and friendly although 1 lady was completely useless - 1st time we asked can we change rooms she flat out said no "because they are all full". Turns out all the doors were open in about 80% of them and they were all empty. Had a chat with the manager and immediately got fixed up in a new place with free nice smell gel things. Lazy foo' worker!! - Other times the lock locked us out and well.. the strange smell in the loo..The 2 yuan yogurt pots next to the bus station up the road were great for breakfast everyday. The hostel has a great location next to the forbidden city and the night market area - only the smell of the toilets is a bit funny..

Liked: The hostel is located 20 minutes away from Forbidden City & Metro station. Cleanliness of hostel is not good enough. There are only 2 toilet is provided and it was not clean. Besides, hostel staffs were hanging their clothes in the corridor and causing the place was smell. Safety wasn't good enough, I lost my towel in my room. Overall, this hostel is only 'so so', not recommended.

Liked: It was in a very nice surroundings with the old buildings quite near. Besides of that it was very close to the tourist attractions. Above all the staff was very nice and cooperative.

Liked: Fantastic location! Some of the staff were extremely helpful whereas others seemed uninterested. I also had 1 good meal and 1 v poor meal, so it can sometimes seem like a great place but overall I was pretty disappointed, and I've heard v good things about some other hostels in the city.
