Liked: The personnel was very helpful and generous and friendly. That was the only thing that was worth anything about this hostel.

Disliked: The hostel was run-down. There was not a single chair that was not broken. The room was damp and stuffy and dark. Could not air it. The hostel is definitely overpriced.

Liked: it´s a very originally place to stay, not the 08/15 hotel-atmosphere

Disliked: the room wasn´t clean enough, too expensive in comparison with beijing hotels (168/188 yuan for a single room! 110 yuan at inner-city for a 3-bed-dorm!!

Liked: I don't kow where to begin... The atmosfere of the hostel is wonderful. The rooms are cousy and comfy and the yard and common areas are even better. The staff deserves all the gold stars in my book, they are super friendly, they will help you with anything and they will do it with a genuine smile. The location is in a quiet hutong and it takes about 15 minutes to walk to the subway, not super close but deffinatly not too far. I would deffinatly want to have stayed there longer.

Disliked: Nothing.

Liked: Location in the hutongs is tops, staff very friendly and it is clean.

Disliked: As above, bathroom facilities and basic breakfast.

Liked: Great staff, very helpfull and friendly. Excellent place to meet new people, the common area is perfect for that. Clean room and bathroom. Great surprise to have breakfast included in the price of the room. Very quiet place in a tourist-free area.

Disliked: internet connexion is very slow

Liked: The hostel is an old courtyard which is typical for "old Beijing". Because it consists only of the rooms around the yard, it is smaller than other hostels, contributing to the unique atmosphere. The staff is very friendly and helpful - there are also various activities such as cooking Chinese food. There is a traditional food market right across the street, and other small restaurants and vendors nearby create the feeling of experiencing the life of ordinary Beijing residents, this makes up for the 10 to 15 minutes walk required to the nearest subway station.

Disliked: There were only two bathrooms for those with shared bathrooms which at times might not be enough.

Liked: very friendly and helpful staff. It seems that they really like what they do!

Disliked: The bathroom smelled a lot. The place was quite far away from the next underground. It was really cold in the room.

Liked: The place has lots of atmosphere and the rooms are big and clean. In the common area they have movies and an X-Box and the English-speaking staff is very friendly. Even in winter you can sit outside (under a glass roof) as they have heaters there - really cosy!

Disliked: The only thing that bothered us was that there was no warm water in the sink, turning the water so-hoo cold since it's December! But really, that's nothing compared to how nice this hostel is :)

Liked: character! the staff is really nice and want to help and make you feel at home, the dumpling party

Disliked: the bathroom in our ensuite (shower and toilet in a small box) was leaking, they tried to fix it but it still smelled really bad

Liked: The staff is very helpful and friendly, they speak good english. The hostel is very charming and clean.

Disliked: We stayed here in october and the doors to the rooms leads directly outside wich made the rooms very cold.

Liked: Excellent!The staff were very helpful and arranged activities most evenings (making cakes, playing cards, parties, food and drink), which was a great way to meet people. They offered other services (arranging daytrips) and were helpful and always available.The rooms were comfortable and clean. The bathrooms were reasonable - a little bit small. Internet and breakfast were included.It was is 10minutes walk from a major subway stop, but it is a little bit hidden away.

Liked: Staff very friendly, do everything they can to help. Room very quaint and spacious.

Disliked: Was very cold and only a small heater. Unfortunately I think theres problems with the toilet sytem which mean the toilet smelt like a sewer and if you left the door open for a short amount of time it made the whole room smell as it was so close. This may just be a problem with the room we stayed in though.

Liked: Two laptops for internet access. Activities each day ie 'beer night' etc. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff

Liked: Good location on a residential area, tough a bit hard to find for the first time. Helpful, English-speaking staff. You can order great, cheap food from a nearby restaurant. The courtyard was a good place to chill.

Liked: it was a lillte hostel, just 3 dorms, breakfast includded (bread and milk), they have activities each day (make dumplings, watch movies, play games, etc)

Disliked: it was in a hutong, a really bad side of the city.. (at the end of a narrow street) please don´t arrive there at night!! -- just 2 bathrooms and 2 showers in all the hostel -- the staff sleep inside the guests dorms --

Liked: great stay, the saff was amazing. Just in a three bed dorm, beds are very hard for the back. two showers for the hotel, but not much queue. nice place to relax out of the city. worth coming for few nights.

Liked: The staff were really enthusiastic and and willing to help. The 6 bed room was comfortable and was air-conditioned thankfully. It was in a great location and the staff was prepared with maps, directions and suggestions once I arrived. They were really welcoming as well.

Disliked: I have no complaints.

Liked: Nancy was a great help to use and her English it very good.

Disliked: Micheal was a bit too eager to help and sometimes treated us as if we knew nothing at all about anything. It was not that close to the sites
