Liked: The hostel is clean and organised. But...

Disliked: First of all, the hostel is situated in the middle of Beijing party district and is full of not-so-smart wannabe cool people. Next, everything in the hostel is overpriced. 2 eur/kg for laundry. 1 eur/min for international call etc. Everything is about double the normal price in China. Further on, in the ground floor of hostel is bar-restaurant that is also overpriced, but that also means there is no place to socialise with other travellers if you don't opt for eating/drinking in this bar.

Liked: There was always something going on around the hostel. If you didn't want to go out and party, then you could just stay in. And the food and drinks were really cheap.

Disliked: They were very easy on letting people stay longer than their reservations making it inconvenient for the person(s) coming in on the day they reserved. My friend and I requested a 4 bed, but were put in a 6 bed. It was pretty bad. The toilets and showers always smelled really bad even though the cleaners cleaned them often everyday. I think they just wiped it down with water instead of using disinfectant or proper cleaner.

Liked: The best Hostel I've stayed at in Asia! Awesome atmosphere, staff are extremely friendly & helpful & the common areas are well set up & great places to meet people.

Liked: Great place to stay, easy to meet other travellers. Staff is really friendly. Food is good too, but a bit expensive.

Disliked: Can't bring food or drinks from outside.

Liked: Location, some activities during the week were cool.

Disliked: No freedom to do what you want, you can't bring outside food or drinks (not even a bottle of pepsi!), very expensive laundry service and when asked if there was a laundry service close to the hostel they refused to tell us, screwed up our booking because we showed up 1 hour late due to a delayed flight. Overall a bad experience, I would not go back.

Liked: Good location in Sanlitun. Very social lounge area.

Disliked: The couple of tours organised through the hostel were disorganised, and often unsuccesful. The bathroom was not cleaned daily and therefore would get quite dirty. On the date of arrival, I could not get access to my room until about 4.30pm.

Liked: The dog.

Disliked: The are several shortcomings of this Hostel. The first is that it its location is confusing to find at first. Second, the hostel's twin bed room is very dirty (bed sheets and towels are horribly stained). The shared washrooms are also very dirty making it highly unpleasant for anyone to stay at this hostel, unless they book the private ensuite room, to which we were changed to for paying extra (and at a higher price than on hostel bookers).

Liked: I really liked the helpfull and nice staff. The restaurant works great.

Disliked: We had a double room ensuite and it smelled a bit damped.

Liked: This hostel was great. The air-con was powerful and the room was very clean and had a nice white duvet. It had locked lockers for security. The wi-fi was great and there were numerous indoor and outdoor hangout spots and a decent food selection.

Disliked: this place was great.... You do have to leave a key deposit that is more than the cost of the room. Just make sure you turn in the key and have cash!

Liked: i really liked the grat location. The stuff is very firendly, they helped us to book flights etc. Even the restaurant downstairs is very convenient to take a drink and meet some other people.

Disliked: we had a private bathroom. For this we paid of course extra, inmy point of view we paid by far too much. in the bathroom water was coming out of the toilet and it was smelly. so i would recommend this location for backpackers, but if yiu are on travel with boyfriend or girlfriend, maybe another location would be more siutable.

Liked: The room was clean and plenty cool for the summer; the staff was more than friendly and everyone spoke excellent English; help was always available whether in finding something fun to do, how to get somewhere, where to mail a package, you name it; the environment was super-cool without being affectatious; and the food was really good while being reasonably priced.

Disliked: Nothing really to dislike. This may sound small, but the owner of the property blew in on Monday with some relatives or something and spent the whole day talking loudly, making the staff nervous, and flirting with the guests. It was so annoying that none of the guests wanted to hang out in the common area. The owner needs to stay away and let the manager and staff run the property since they understand foreign guests.

Liked: Excellent location. Very clean. Friendly staff.

Disliked: Beds were a little hard and food and drinks were a little pricey (15 for a beer and 30ish for cheapest food). It's also a bit annoying that I turned up to book a room and ended up having to use their computers as you could only book the 8 bed dorms online. But seriously, these were the only bad things about the hostel I can think of. I thoroughly recommend.

Liked: Great location, helpful staff, nice common area. I really loved the location as it's close to tourist areas, bar street and shopping centers.

Disliked: The rooms are very basic. Also, there is no elevator so it's tiring lugging your backpack/suitcase up 4 flights of stairs!
