Liked: I loved everything about Qianmen hostel. It is exactly as it described itself to be. What I particularly like most is the hostel is at a very strategic location; the bus stops are almost in front of the hostel, the subway is just 2 minutes walk away and Tiananmen Square and Forbidden City is about 10 minutes walk away

Disliked: They should improve their explanation on the rooms though. Three bedroom shared bathroom actually means three beds in one room and no bathroom (you have to use the common bathroom).

Liked: Location and friendly/helpful staff who spoke English. We had a lot of noise at night time as the courtyard in the middle seems to be the place where people stay up late at night and all the rooms surround it.

Liked: Great location close to the Square and Forbidden City. Lovely courtyard for meeting people and hanging out, with lots of services offered by the hostel, including trips, bike hire, laundry, lockers and food and beer. Very helpful staff, lots of restaurants and shops nearby. Ensuite private room is excellent value for money - ideal if you've just got off a long train journey. Completely recommended!

Liked: Can't say enough positive things about this hostel! I've already recommended it to a fellow traveller. It's in a great location, right near the Tianmen square but also around the corner from typical 'hutong' neighborhoods. Everything is at your doorstep and if it's not, the friendly, helpful staff with provide you with clear, detailed directions or organize how to get there. The room I stayed in (single, private) with simple but clean and actually spacious. The building is very cute and has great personality. The prices are reasonable for what they offer. I had free wifi access in my room too.Overall a perfect stay and if I'm ever back in Beijing, I know where I'll stay. For all those going: stay at this hostel, you won't regret it!!XIE XIE!!!

Liked: The location to Tianamen Square is perfect (5 min walk) and the staff very helpful and friendly, but the dorm (4Bed) was very tiny, had just a small window (but aircon) and there was no space for any security locker or big bags!

Liked: The staff were wonderful, especially Helen and the 2 little dogs! It's very clean and quiet. It's also located on a main street so it's very easy to find with tons of cheap restaurants and shops around.

Liked: Friendly Staff, good English speaking skills.The pictures of the place on the internet, however, are a bit romantisized - as well as the location. So prepare for a not so pleasent view from the room windows. But to some degree that underlines the authenticity of the place beeing build into a hutong.

Liked: there where other nice guests, the tea was cheap and the 2 dogs where cute. that unfortunately is it.the building was old and desperately needed some attention. there where 3 showers for too many people, so u where waiting the whole time. the furniture was old and broken. lights and locks where broken. staff was very unfriendly, no english, I had a complaint and the receptionist was very unfriendly started yelling and laughing at the same time...??? I sent an email to the manager no reply yet?? location is close to the main sights but there are no restaurants etc nearby. they had a taxi service but refused to call them? They had a menu but the kitchen was always closed? And I can go on and on. I am a hostel manager in europe so know the drill. this definately is the worsed I ever stayed in. we left after 2 nights.

Liked: really nice hostel!!! We totally enjoyed the stay there. The staff is very helpful with information, tickets, etc. The rooms are clean and the double room we had was really cosy!

Liked: The cafe and lounge areas are awesome, and I think the courtyard is amazing during summer! The location is super central and the only issue I have with this hostel is that the showers and toilets are placed in an open building, making it pretty cold if it's not hot outside.

Liked: Excellent location, close to temple of Heaven and the Forbidden City. Easy access to Qianmen subway station.The staff was very friendly and helpful, even with my family who does not speak English^^

Liked: The people here were very helpful, especially Johnny and Helen. They speak good English as well. The room was clean and the beds, comfortable. Definitely would recommend this place. Oh, and the location is awesome!
