Liked: Friendliness and attitude of Rick and company, 24-hr free internet access , chinese decor. Last but not the least, they bent over backwards to accomodate the needs of our 4-yr-old child.

Liked: The staff was very friendly and helpful. They even have a suggested itinerary with all the information about public transport that you need.The hostel is very cosy, and it's situated in a nice hutong. The area could seem a bit dodgy at first, but it is just the first impression of a hutong. You will see later that it's safe and you can enjoy of a stay in a real hutong.The only problem is how to get there. We got lost twice with the taxi. Be careful because they advertise another hostel in Beijing on their website and this could be confusing even for Chinese people!!! Before we arrived in Beijing, we asked the Chinese receptionist from our previous hotel to write the direction of Sitting on the City Walls in Chinese, but she made a mistake and copied the wrong one (she copied the one of the hotel advertised on their website), which made it even more difficult to find the place!

Liked: I liked the atmosphere, the decoration of the courtyard, the location. But what actually makes the hostel is the unbelievable helpfulness of the staff. They know, what you want before you say it and go really out of their way to find a solution for you if you have an unusual request. All this is combined with a friendliness and warmth that you do not find in many other places.

Liked: Very helpful. Great information. Made calls to fix up tickets for me, gave me directions, sorted out additional nights accommodation elsewhere when they were fully booked & I wanted to stay longer. Clean, quiet, central.

Liked: Rick, the owner and manager is a star! This guy will make you feel completely at home immediately and can not do enough for you. The location is great, very close to the forbidden city tho yu will have to walk 10-15 mins to get on any public transport.

Liked: Rick, who runs the hostel, was so great. Nothing was too much he was so helpful always suggesting great things to do and explaining the transport for how to do them. Really can't recommend this place enough, it's the best hostel i ever stayed at.

Liked: location was paramount. Smack in centre of places you travel to see. Rick and Rachel were extremely helpful with tips of getting around. And they were honest about what attractions were really worth going to. Hostel was clean and not noisy. And if you were too tired to go out for food, they cooked up some reasonable grub at reasonable cost. Well, its a place i would return too if i was to travel to Beijing again.

Liked: AWESOME I mean I cannot even think about going somewhere else next time I go in Beijing, VERY clean, Authentic location, The owner rocks very nice and helpful, you better talk to him before you go outside and get scammed ($200-300 lost in Beijing by like 60% of visitors). even their "8 mixed bed" is like 2x4 very comfortable. don't hesitate to book

Liked: Rick & Rachel with all the staff were so helpful and great, that I would return anytime to this hostel. We didn't liked the location at first as we arrived at night, but by the day light everything seems OK. It's great place to stay! Thanks all the staff & Rick + Rachel. Well done!

Liked: A great place to stay in Beijing. The hostel is v clean and comfortable with a really relazing courtyard area. Best of all the owners are incredibly helpful and will go out of their way to help you and help sort any other travel bookings etc you may have.

Liked: It was a great place to stay. The rooms (and bathrooms!!) were very clean, with nice beds. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The hostel is in a hutong, a old Chinese alleyway. It was great to stay between the Chinese people.. The first day it was only a bit difficult to find, because taxi or buses don't go there. You can only go by bicycle or by foot (takes a few minutes to reach the mainroad, were busses and taxis are driving). I really recommand this place! I had a superb week there!There is also free internet, and a laundry service. The food you can order at night is good, and not expensive (good mail is 25 yuan).
