Liked: Everything, it's literally a short walk to the forbidden city. they can arrange all of your tours (if you want them to) including opera and the great wall. They have bus directions to everywhere, there up pretty much throughout the day and night, and they speak english.wonderful place.

Liked: Excellent place to stay in Beijing. Lovely ensuite room and communal courtyard. Secret hideaway down a Beijing Hutong! Advice on where to go and how to get there was excellent. Highly recommended for all types of people wanting to explore China. Beats any hotel.

Liked: nice atmosphere with lovely courtyard - I don't think you are likely to meet lots and lots of people here but the hostel had a really nice atmosphere with helpful staff. Its in a good location but not near a metro but the staff provide a leaflet telling you which buses to catch which was v helpful. I was worried about finding the hostel as its up a little hutong - however found it no problem after following tips from other reviewers - there are some signs from main road as well.

Liked: All of the rooms look onto an indoor courtyard, which is very charming. The whole place has a lot of character, and more space than most of the hostels we've been staying at in China.

Liked: Probably the best hostel I have ever stayed in, located in the heart of a "hutong", literally round the corner from the Forbidden City. A wide array of facilities can only be matched by the genuine friendliness of its staff!

Liked: Rachel & Rick were very helpful. We enjoyed the courtyard. They also kept our luggage for an extra 36 hours when we left to go spend the night on the Great Wall.

Liked: This is a great place to stay. People of all ages, from all over the world ,gather in the courtyard to eat, drink ,and share travel stories.Staff is very helpful. They speak English and are great with directions.

Liked: Great place to stay. HIghly recommended. Stayed with our 18mth old daughter and they were lovely to her. Just get taxi to drop you off at Jingshan houjie next to service station and park then walk down alley next to park - look up for signs and you won't get lost. Taxis get confused if you give them address of hostel cos they don't know how to get into the hutong.

Liked: LOVED this hostel. had a doubel ensuite and it was perfectly nice and clean. they actually came in and cleaned the room and made the bed every day. the main room is such a nice place to hang out- a transformed courtyard now covered and very well designed. the staff was amazing. when we first got there they presented us with an itinerary on the main sights in beijing and how to get to and from each one using public transportation. they were honest about what places to see, restaurants to try, etc. it's located in a hutong, so it was difficult for us to find at first using the directions from the website. the only other minus was that because the rooms all surround the common room, sounds travels pretty easily and if there are many people hanging out it can be noisy in the rooms. otherwise, this was a great place to stay and i would absolutely reccomend it.

Liked: It is in such an authentic location, hidden in the hutong of Beijing. You will regularly see groups of people playing cards or board games on tables set up on the street.The staff are so helpful, helping you find your way to any location within the city by bus or metro although we found that cycling through the city was great fun!Other than that the rooms are clean and well kept with immaculate decoration and the hidden courtyard is fantastic, feeling truly authentic and an oasis of calm in the busy city.Oh, and the beer is cheap!

Liked: beautiful hostel in an old hutong, very nice atmosphere and helpful, friendly staff. i felt safe and welcome. only thing i didnt like was that the indow was to the courtyard so no sun. but still i will come back!

Liked: I liked the atmosphere and enviroment but the rooms were in need of renovation for the amount you pay, considering we'd just come from a 4 star hotel and paid only 75 rmb extra for the two of us.if your travelling on your own its a good place to be but if your a couple then it may be just as cheap to stay in a hotel and a better location.
