Liked: The location is great.Just a short walk to the Metro.Only about five minutes! We actually walked to Forbidden City.It was quite a long walk,about forty five minutes.If you take the Metro,just a few stops and one easy change. The staff are very helpful and speak excellent English. The trip to the Great Wall that the Hostel offers was exceptional and a good value. We had a double room with our own bath and the room was very comfortable and the bathroom wonderful.Plenty of hot water.Even had a T.V. with an English news channel.A.C. worked fine. Very,very clean and friendly place.Lots of good local restaurants and the location in a Hutong is very interesting and inviting. This is a great place to stay.We are both sixty four years old and felt very welcome by everyone.The Hostel even threw a free Peking duck party one night in the comfortable Restaurant lounge area. We weren't able to use the free WiFi ,because our computer wasn't working,but the hostel had several computer that you could use for a very low fee.great location,great staff.Fair price.

Disliked: If you are not used to a Chinese bed than you might need to find another place.The pad on the box spring is not as thick as a towel. My wife and I have been in China for almost a year and so we are used to the hard beds and it was quite comfortable for us.

Liked: The Great Wall tour arranged by the hostel! Jeff & Florence were incredibly nice and friendly! They brought us to the section of great wall which wasn't opened to the public, which was really awesome because we needn't fight with other tourists!

Disliked: There was one receptionist who couldn't be bothered about our questions and I really had difficulty understanding her english when she was speaking to the westerners. It was horrible when I requested for some stuff and she just refused my requests directly. Otherwise, the other staff were really helpful and friendly.

Liked: its atmosphere was so friendly and nice! also, All staffs were so kind. its facilities were a little old but good and clean. I stayed at 3 bed room, which has a bathroom, an air conditioner, TV and a large window! I feel so comfortable for all days I stayed! I want to stay again if I go to Beijing next time. And its tour program was also good. We could go to the Great Wall without difficulty and save time~

Disliked: At the first time, it was hard to find it because it was located at small street. So, we could get there by pick-up service after calling. But its location is not too bad because there is a subway station near the guesthouse.

Liked: Good Price as we stayed in double room with ensuite. Facilities were good and staff were very helpful. Special thanks to Jeff and Florian who went above and beyond with their help with repairs to a camera and travel plans. The Organised trip to the Wall was fantastic. No crowds and well worth it. Very close to the Metro with good directions

Liked: Nice, friendly, relaxed atomsphere. Staff friendly and happy to help with stuff.

Disliked: Prebooked place for 2 people in 8bed dorm online (through hostel-bookers) but when we arrived were told there was no space and we'd need either separate rooms or twin room (which is more expensive).

Liked: Good ambiance, nice people, the commun area is cosy. the managers are very friendly and helpfull

Disliked: they don't always have the food on the menu, especially salads!

Liked: Right next to subway station so it was really easy to get everywhere. Restaurants and bakeries were also really close

Liked: definitely ideal location to subway. very very reasonable price. very friendly staff. 100 percent for sure to stay again in Beijing.

Liked: The unique tour to the great wall in a section with absolutly no tourist. The standard of this hostel is like an hotel, with fun included :)

Disliked: The 2 bed-dorm happened to be a 2+1 bed-dorm... mistake in the website description but we were no more than 2 persons during my stay.

Liked: Just nice! Nice people, nice bar, nice room even nice cleaning staff! Met a lot of people and tried some of the hostel offers (tour and byke rental). Really good.

Liked: The atmosphere is great. Everything is done so that you can enjoy a good stay.

Disliked: The bathroom was not that great. It was quite cold and no wall to separate toilets and shower.

Liked: The staff was very helpful and they offered a variety of services. The room was very good for a single room and even included a TV. I didn't expect that. Although it was a bit far from the city centre by walking I enjoyed the location in the Hutong and the restaurants in the area.

Disliked: It would be nice to have a kitchen facility for use, but this just didn't seem typical at hostels in China in a general sense. The restaurant was helpful but prices were a bit high.

Liked: Jeff and Flo were incredibly helpful and made my stay in Beijing very enjoyable. The hostel has great atmosphere and it is a great place to meet people

Disliked: My room was dirty and there were used condom wrappers under my bed

Liked: Its uniqueness as a preserved "hutong".

Disliked: Service of the cleaning staff: We stayed there for 2 nights, when I requested for a change of our dirtied towels after the 1st night. The cleaning staff asked me to wait till 3pm but she never came to change the towels.

Liked: Close to the subway and big enough rooms

Disliked: taxis did not know how to reach it even with the address in chinese or refused to go there (not enough central I guess). But the subway is very close. we wanted to saty 2 more nights, we asked in the morning they said ok, and the evening they changed their mind saying that they are already full (I think that the morning staff did not understand/note the request)
