We are situated on Playa Ritoque which is one of Chile’s best kept secrets. It is a 17 km beach stretching in front of the untouched Dunas de Ritoque between Con-Con and Quintero and is only a 45 min bus ride from Valparaiso & Viña del Mar, 2 1/2hrs from Santiago.

At Ritoque Raices Hostel (with sea view) we have eco-showers, a fire place, BBQs, chill-out areas and sun lounges, to make the most of your stay on our beautiful beach!

We at Ritoque Raices, a ‘family’ of lifetime locals and people who simply got stuck in this little paradise, believe in the importance of sustainability and the fragility of our nature and culture. All our operations therefore follow the concepts of sustainable tourism: we recycle actively, use alternative energy sources, work only with local and independent partners who share our sustainable believes, and try to conserve the surf culture and history of this amazing place by sharing with and educating foreign travellers as well as locals!

We are the ideal place to get away from the Gringo Trail for a while and explore the beaches, swells and nature of Chile's V region, try some new and crazy activities or simply chill.

Want to surf? No worries, learn how to surf where surfing in Chile started. We offer surf and bodyboard lessons for all levels. You already know how to handle the waves?

Depending on the daily conditions and your ability we get you to the most suitable beach so you can enjoy some of our beautiful waves. Playa Ritoque is surrounded by loads of beaches, all with their different breaks and swells.

We are small & busy and you must have a reseravation. Check in is between 9:00am - 6:00pm only.

Accommodation Information

Located right on the beach, Ritoque Raices Hostel offers 4 bed dorms and double rooms (en-suite or semi-private), in 3 different buildings to guarantee a 'home away from home' feeling, rather than a big hostel factory.

For the smaller budgets we offer hammocks for a 'sleeping under the stars' experience or space to pitch your own tent! All beds are equipped with fresh linen, pillows and blankets. You can hear the ocean from all the rooms and see it from the double rooms.

We have kitchen facilities or you can enjoy the freshest fish in our restaurant.

As we are located on a beach and believe in socializing with each other, we do not have internet facilities but there are loads of cyber shops in close by Quintero.

Take a day trip to close by Viña del Mar or Valparaiso, instead of the other way around!

A delicious& fresh breakfast is included in all the hostel options!

Location Information

We are in the region Valparaiso not Valparaiso City. Viña is 1/2 hour by bus & Valparaiso is 1 hour by bus. Buses leave every 15 minutes.
