Ritoque Raices

Ritoque Raices is located right on the beach! On Playa Ritoque, one of Chile’s best kept secrets, a 17 km beach stretching in front of the untouched Dunas de Ritoque. Only a 50 minute bus ride from Valparaiso & Viña del Mar, 3hrs from Santiago.

Here at Ritoque Raices, we believe in the importance of sustainability and the fragility of our nature and culture.
All our operations therefore follow the concepts of sustainable tourism: we recycle actively, use alternative energy sources, work only with local and independent partners who share our sustainable beliefs, and try to conserve the surf culture and history of this amazing place by sharing with and educating foreign travelers as well as locals!

We are the ideal place to get away from the Gringo Trail for a while and explore the beaches, swells and nature of Chile's V region, try some new and crazy activities or simply chill.

Take a day trip to Viña and Valpo, and not the other way around!

We are small & busy and you must have a reservation. Check in is between 9:00-18:00 only.

Accommodation Information

Located right on the beach, Ritoque Raices Hostel offers dorm beds (with ocean view) and double rooms (en-suite or semi-private), in 2 different buildings to guarantee a 'home away from home' feeling, rather than a big hostel factory. You can hear the ocean from all of the rooms.

Please not that the ´Private Double with sea view´ is the loft of our A-frame house. It´s upstairs from the mainroom but has no door (otherwise you wouldn´t see the ocean). Therefore it´s more a semi-private really.

We have kitchen facilities in all the houses or you can enjoy the freshest fish in the restaurant next door.

As we are located on a beach and believe in socializing with each other, we do not have internet facilities or TVs but there are lots of cyber shops in close by Quintero.

A delicious and fresh breakfast is included in all the hostel options!

PS: Remember to bring strong sunscreen… you will need it during the day! And a warm jumper as the nights are getting a bit chilly..

Location Information

PLEASE NOTE: We are in the region Valparaiso not Valparaiso City. Viña is 45min & Valparaiso is 1 hour by bus. Buses leave every 15 minutes.
