Customer reviewOn arrival we were met and welcomed by Trini, one of our hosts, to this historic house with ample atmosphere. We were shown to our room, very clean with crisp white linen. The room had a stunning view over the harbour, the greater Valparaiso and Viña del Mar. We met Ale, Trini's husband and co-owner, later. Both are really fiendly and helpful and offered good advice wrt our stay. Breakfast was ample with freshly squeezed orange juice, fresh fruit and feshly baked rolls, jams and coffee. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to anybody. |

Customer reviewThis is one of the most spectacular settings imaginable in terms of views--an incredible vista over Valparaiso harbor and beyond.. Everything about the hostel is perfect, save that it's in an area with virtually no restaurants or commercial services, and we were warned by one and all that it could be risky to venture out at night--because of the risk of petty crime (pickpockets and such). The Concepcion/Allegra area is a lot more lively and beautiful. But... the wonderful welcome and amazing views of Casa Hostal 199 can't beat! |

Jonas LindbladFantastic place, possibly the best B&B in South America? A well decorated house with plenty of charm situated on the western hill with a magnificent view overlooking the Valparaiso bay area. The owners personal attention makes this an ideal place for guests who are looking for a quit and relaxed stay. We ended up staying in several nights with fresh seafood empanadas (blue restaurant further down is highly recommended, ask the owners) and a nice bottle of white, just soaking up the view |

Customer reviewIt's not a party hostel but that was fine with us. The view is amazing, the staff are really friendly and the hostel is immaculate (and the comfiest bed so far). We wished we had booked for longer! There is also a lovely restaurant across the road (Cafe Mirador). |
