Liked: Nice place well located.

Disliked: The room was clean but the common areas not that much, especially the kitchen.

Liked: From the outside it doesn't look appealing but inside it is nice. The lady who runs this hostel is lovely & her son is very helpful if you dont speak good spanish. It feels like a home and there is a lovely friendly dog. We were made to feel very very welcome... decent breakfast too

Disliked: The shower could be slightly better but its a decent place.

Liked: The woman that owned the hostel was very nice. The dog was cute. Did feel like home a bit.

Disliked: We suspect that the hostel had bed bugs and a rat infestation as we could heard them running around at night not very nice at all!! We were also lead to believe by other reviews that the breakfast would include eggs, ham and cheese but only bread and jam was on offer for our 4 night stay...

Liked: Location in the heart of the main sights. Breakfast was quite good.

Disliked: The building as a whole is pretty old and decrepit, particulary the bathrooms. Hot water for showers only available in the morning.

Liked: The place is located at the cerro alegre, which is part of the UNESCO world heritage site. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

Liked: The lady in charge is very nice and tries to accommodate you in any way she can.My limited Spanish made it some what difficult to communicate ,but we did. The hostel is within easy walking distance to the harbour from which we leave on a cruise around Cape Horn.

Disliked: Not an easy hostel to get to if you are handicapped. There are some 60 steps to navigatem Otherwise it´is a good spot.

Liked: This is a very awesome place to stay in if you want to come to Valpariso for Valpariso. The staff is excellent and the hostel is very inviting. At first it can be a little weird because of the location but you eventually get over it and realize how amazing of a place it is. I recommend it to anyone who wants a quite atmosphere.

Liked: The creative use of paint to cover all manner of stains was quite incredible, as was the use of air freshener to hide the stench! The bed bugs were also an unexpected bonus which we didn't ask for, but provided free of charge. The stairs on entry to the hostel smelt like a dead, hungry, hungry hobo and were covered in human filth. Excellent.

Liked: Nice place, right in the middle of Cerro Alegre. Nice owners, very enthusiastic and helpful. Fairly basic, but quite charming, and would recommend this place as value for money.

Liked: loved it. staff are super friendly and kitchen is great for cooking. only complaint is that the street it is off of can be a little quiet and is not well light at night. if you're a girl traveling by yourself it might make you a little nervous to walk home late at night

Liked: Unfortunately i had my bag stolen when in Valparaiso and the Hostel owner was really helpful in helping me contact the police and even took me to the police station to pick up my crime report. The hostel itself is in a good location but is a little outdated but is kept very clean. It has a very homely feel and you are always made to feel welcome. Would recommend to others - just be very aware when walking around the port area!

Liked: it felt just like home complete with a caring mother! she was fantastic and although she couldn't speak a word of english (and my spanish is muy poor) we were still very much able to communicate with each other.

Liked: great location for new year's...close to Plaza Sotomayor and aa great lookout. educardo is helpful. the bathrooms are a bit old and i'm not sure that i would recommend this place as a top choice except for new years.
