Liked: Great atmosphere, very friendly and helpful staff, free internet

Disliked: Nothing really! A bathroom was out of order during my stay so it seemed as if there weren´t enough but if that one had been working, it would have been fine.

Liked: Great place to stay in Santiago. They didn't even mentioned all what they offer! We had movie night, there's art work class, the staff is very friendly and helpfull. And the place is huge with 3 small gardens, 2 kitchens etc... Breakfast is very good

Disliked: I missed 4 times my way to the room :)

Liked: An excellent place to stay in Santiago! La Chimba is situated in the nicest part of Santiago, close to nice restaurants, cafes, the metro and the city center. The staff is very helpful and there are several places to hang out at the hostel, for example in the sun in the backyard

Liked: Really nice property and rooms are nice and clean. The 2 shared bathrooms upstairs were excellent although the showers go hot and cold randomly!!

Disliked: Noise!! Far far too noisy if you are looking for a good nights sleep. We arrived after a 26 hour bus journey and needed a good sleep, we couldnt get one here. Loud music was being played until 2am, but when that was turned off people started coming back from the pubs & clubs and stayed up partying, etc until 4.30am. So in short, if you´re looking to meet people and party this would be a good choice - but if you need sleep avoid this place like the plague!

Liked: In the heart of the artsy district of Bellavista where lots of restaurants and bars are. Short walk away from the house of Pablo Neruda, Cerro Cristobal and subway. Suitable for young traveller independent or couples who don't mind some partying (and the respective noise).

Disliked: The streets in that area can be a little dodgy though. Urin smell every a few meters. But this seems to be characteristic for Santiago in many neighborhoods.

Liked: Staff very friendly and helpful with advices where to go. Good place when you are in Santiago for the first time. Situated in bellavista with lots of bars and restaurants auround, great place to go out at night. Very close to Cerro San Cristobal.

Disliked: Although hostel is quite safe, you can´t be sure about the surroundings.

Liked: Nice location in Bellavista with lots of bars and restaurants on its doorstep. Clean and friendly and really good sized beds.

Disliked: The dorm we were in opened on to the main living area which got really noisy at night as the hostel guys watched tv til the early hours.

Liked: The common area was really cool and set up well for meeting other travellers. and the location was quite good

Disliked: questions on things to do towards staff was met with only 1 thing to see in the whole city and the information we got on that was wrong.

Liked: Great location with lots of bars and restaurants near by, but the road the hostel is on is slightly set back from this so you don´t get the noise when you eventually drag yourself to bed.

Disliked: The shower takes a bit of getting used to, water temp goes from hot to cold and back again, but not the end of the world really.
