Don Santiago is a hostel for travellers run by travellers. We are proudly one of the cheapest hostels in all of Santiago, and as you can tell by the reviews here, we provide a real free breakfast!
(Scrambled eggs, toasts, real coffee (no instant coffee, tea, loads of fruits (orange- bananas-kiwis, grape) milk, butter and jam. Also, we have Vegemite available for Aussies and Brown Sauce for English people!) In Chile, you can easily pay 4 USD for this kind of Breakfast in restaurants.
(Oh, and sorry that Chile is so expensive for all you travellers coming from Argentina, Peru, and Bolivia - that's not our fault!)

Don Santiago has all you could ever ask for in a hostel: Comfy beds, hot showers 24/7, weekly summer BBQ´s, fully equipped kitchen, lockers for all!, free internet (2 terminals in the lobby as well as wireless internet throughout the house), a TV room with cable and DVD, towels, no lockouts, no curfew, late checkout till eleven, etc.

We are located 3 blocks away from Plaza Brasil, the epicentre of the neighbourhood’s 24-hour buzz. During the day, children play hide-and-seek among the colourful sculptures; while night-time sees the plaza morph into a youngsters' meeting point before the party moves on to one the many nearby clubs and bars.

Our staff are really cool, always ready to throw a party, or just going out to the best spots in Santiago. Diego is musician, a little crazy but really cool, Ibo l, always up for hanging out and partying, Ester, already a legend making fresh breakfast every morning and Pato who’s, has been working with backpackers since 1999.
The house has no rules, only respect each other.

The famous Pisco sour madness evenings on Wednesdays and BBQ`s on Fridays.

Location Information

15 minutes away from the government palace and museums. We are located in the middle of Barrio Brasil, the college town in the city. In front of restaurant Squella (best lobster in town) and right next to restaurant Carepalo. We are 3 blocks away from Plaza Brasil (booze area) and 2 blocks away from Plaza Concha y Toro (restaurant Zully)
Also the human right museum just opened! Walking distance from the hostel.
