Liked: It´s fun, and the rooms are simple but fine. When the staff were actually around (10 per cent of the time, I kid you not) they were friendly and helpful. They have a sandboarding excursion every day from the hostel which ios cool.

Disliked: There is NEVER anyone in the office to help you (or even let you in the building when you´re standing in desert heat with a pack), they NEVER have a record of your reservations, there was NO hot water at all during my stay, power is intermittent and I had to pack with a headlamp, and it is way, way off the beaten path in San Pedro and a dodgy walk home from town on unlit streets through a vacant lot.

Liked: There is a nice fireplace. and they had realy hot water. Room are ok.

Disliked: The owner slept when I arrived. He knew when I would arrive. I knocked thousend times and waitet for more than half an hour. That can not be!!!!!

Liked: Proximity to the town of San Pedro de Atacama. Good for parties if that's why you're there

Disliked: Loud parties most of the night, hard to sleep Sleep is important as the main highlights of this place are it's tours and outdoor activities, so I think the vibe of the hostel isn't appropriate for that and doesn't find a balance between the partygoers and tour-goers.

Liked: The patio is nicely arranged. The rooms are ok.

Disliked: I would not recommend to get your laundry done. Because when I got mine back, clothsweremissing and the some of them were still dirty. Can't imagine how they wash their cloths

Liked: beds are good, staff was very friendly, good atmosphere

Disliked: bathrooms were very dirty, noisy, difficult to get there at night (almost no light on the streets!)

Liked: the place looks very nice, beds are good. good place to meet people because it is quite small. there is a tree in the middle of the garden and you can hear the bees zooming.. very nice

Liked: Cool set up, with rooms surrounding a central courtyard where there is a fireplace at night. Beds were very comfy. There is a kitten!

Disliked: The staff is really nice when you find them, its just hard to locate them The kitchen is small, and the 'internet' (laptop owned by the hostal) was of very poor quality. The Wifi works though, so its probably best to have your own computer if you know you're going to need one on your time there. There's also internet cafe's around town very cheap. Although Hostal Cabur isn't far out of town, sometimes it's far enough out of town to be a hassle. If you're looking at it because you don't want to be in the center of town with ''all the noise'', look somewhere else.

Liked: There was a good common area and free internet.

Disliked: The staff we not available in the morning when we had to leave. Also the hostel is far from the town center and is hard to get back to in the dark.

Liked: I liked the fire at night and the chance to chat to fellow travellers

Disliked: It was very cold and there was no where to relax inside, even meals had to be eaten outside. In the morning you felt like your fingers were going to drop off. For the price I felt that breakfast should have been included.

Liked: Staff were great - sandboarding trip out with Phillipe was cool and included loads of things we weren´t expecting (including his desert rally driving!).

Liked: Felipe is a nice host and the atmosphere around the fireplace was great! A bit worried about the guests opening the door for others, and the lock on the room door did not work. The location is good. I had a nice stay.

Liked: A very nice hostel. The owner Filippe is a great guy. Don´t miss the sandboarding and to see the sunset in Valle de La Luna. And let Filippe take you instead of paying more to the agencies. He´s a mad wannabe rally driver in the desert. Do it.

Liked: - Too noisy!!- Internet = one laptop and only when they want.- Only two bathroom for the whole hostel, you'll have to wait your turn.- They tried to ask me 24'000 pesos. The night cost 20'000 and I did pay 2'000 pesos by hostelbookers, it means I had to pay 18'000.- Otherwise I think the place is nice to meet people, but if you want to sleep, forget it!

Liked: Really lovely, quiet place! Chilled out owners who run the best tours which keep you away from the masses of other tours for a unique experience!

Liked: The hostel was basic but a decent little hostel, not too far from the main square. The owner tends not to get up till late and on our last day despite trying to wake her up to pay we had to leave the money on the bed!
