Liked: Lovely, peaceful location about 10 mins from main town with stunning views of the mountains. Fab hostel, rooms more like little chalets, clean and there was always hot water. Run by Edith, who makes you feel very welcome and couldn't do enough for us. We had fun communicating as neither spoke the other's language but that didn't matter. Great breakfast and laundry service was very quick. If you don't stay here you will miss a little gem.

Disliked: Nothing, shame we had to leave.

Liked: all was perfect (8min walk to main road, perfect breakfast, clean .....) and owner is very very nice

Liked: can highly recommend, quite and nice place, 5-10min walk to center, not a problem at all, very friendly host (with little english but a great heart... ;-)

Liked: not much

Disliked: when we arrived took 10-15mins to get an answer to the front door.The 1st rooms locks did not work at all,The room we eventually stayed locks pretty hard to work at times,as was our neighbours so lots of rattling of keys at all hours of the day.No kitchen facilities were allowed to be used.Breakfast pretty poor(bread,jam coffee.With ham and cheese one day) no atmosphere and a good 10 mins out of town.When we left they could not even get us a taxi, so had to walk to bus station.They advertised pick up and drop off from bus terminal, but this was not true.Wi fi worked 1 day out of 3.Not a great experience at all

Liked: Me and my boyfriend enjoyed our stay very much, especially the owner who is an extremely nice and helpful old lady. The rooms were spacious, nice and clean, and the breakfast were great.

Disliked: The only cons I see in this hostel is that it's a little bit far from the center compared to others (even though it's not such a long walk anyway) and that you cannot pay by card, only in cash.

Liked: breakfast was good, the landlady was helpful, the shower was hot

Disliked: we were a bit disappointed with the location of this hostel (right on the edge of town and hard to find- three doors away from the desert), and the fact that we could have just turned up and easily booked into annother more central, hammock-equiped hostal a short stagger away from the main street

Disliked: it is realy toooo far away from the city centre and realy toooooo expensive (70 usd for a double room with nothing special)!

Liked: The breakfast was good and the rooms are clean. The description to get to the hostel should be renewed, because it wasn´t clear enough to get there easily. The location is a bit far out of the citycenter. There is no 24-hours reception.

Liked: This property was more like a motel or B&B than a hostel. A great place to relax away from the bustle of call caracoles. Sylvia, the hostess, was an absolute sweetheart - she even gave us a small gift when we left that she had made herself! She was very flexible with payment and letting us stay an extra night when our tour fell through. It is only a 5 minute walk from the main drag, which was a nice opportunity for some exercise and made for a quiet stay. Wifi in the rooms was a massive bonus. The room was cleaned daily. Breakfast included scrambled eggs...yum!

Disliked: If you want to meet people this may not be the place for you. Saying that, it is hard not to meet people in San Pedro, as you seem to be on tours all day.

Liked: It is a cosy place, a little bit out of the center (which is good, so you get a really good impression of the whole town and you can sleep quietly at night). The host is the most friendly and helpful women in the world; she treated us as if we were her own children. We enjoyed our (short) stay very, very much and will stay in this very hostel anytime we get back to San Pedro. Thanks a lot for everything!!!!

Liked: This place is great, very clean and the owner is so kind and helpful. It is a ten minute walk to city center, which makes it quieter and you see more of San Pedro by having to leave the central area. Highly recommend!

Liked: Clean. Temperature was warm.

Disliked: Hostal Solor is very isolated in the already very small town of San Pedro. There are tons of hostels that are closer to town and cheaper as well. The owner was very unreasonable in her expectations of us and extremely rude. Should be fine as long as you plan on not talking in your room past 12 am.
