The service (manager) was the friendliest, most helpful person I met on our entire 1 month vacation. We had several problems with which he handled or fixed for us. I cannot recommend this hostel enough. It is basic accommodations, but there is a breakfast included

I enjoyed my 2 night stay at La Estancia. Alejandro was very helpful with my Ushuaia bus ticket reservation too; he also recommended good places to eat, see, etc. The hostel has 3 free internet PCs, good breakfast. The place is a rather pretty old house (the floors creak a little when one walks), but it is well maintained and very comfortable for any backpacker who isn't looking for anything superfancy. It is not a party place, but there is a social place where people can meet and hang out.

The owner was exceptionally helpful and friendly and bent over backwards to help us enjoy our short stay in the town - including organising a personal trip to the penguin colony with less than 24 hours' notice and comnig back in his PJ's to help us process the payment!

Clean, basic, and kinda creaky, the owner and family are very cool, very helpful. Good place to be mellow for a day or two while putting your trip together, they have good internet and a nice breakfast in the morning.

Carmen and Alejandro were very helpful and friendly. The atmosphere was more like a B&B than a typical hostel. I liked the calm, relaxed feeling, and the clean, organized kitchen.
