The staff is amazing and will do everything to make you enjoy the city. The building is pretty comfortable and has a beautiful view since it is close to a lake. From some rooms you will be able to see Villa Rica Vulcan. I would indeed recommend this hotel. There is nothing to claim, I can just say good things about Gudenschwager Hotel.

It is very close to the lake. There is free internet. The rooms are really nice. Th e rate on hotelbookers is much cheaper than the real rate so it is very good value to book through the website.

Excellent staff and comfy rooms. It was a bit noisy due to the creaky wooden floors and thin walls. A lot of people are up at 5am to climb Volcan Villarica...

We had a bit of trouble finding this hostel simply because we didn´t believe it would actually be lakeside. The view from our room included the lake and (if you stuck your head out) the volcano. Breakfast was offered at any time begining in the wee hours of the morning for a reasonable price. The atmosphere was very friendly, clean, and safe (each door has a lock) and the service was supurb, from our beds being made while we were gone to a wake up knock on our door from the host. He even went so far as to call a tour agency for us to see if they had room for us to join the volcano hike, gave us a no nonsense run down of the area and the activities we were planning, and made sure the guests were well connected to help advise each other and make friends. 10/10 in our book.

Off the main drag, but still in walking distance, GREAT location on beach, great views, super clean, English-speaking owners, I would definitely stay here again on my next trip!

This is recently refurbished hotel and is actually a tourist hotel but caters for a few backpackers aswell. Its especially suitable for the more mature backpacker looking for peace and quiet rather than the younger backpacker looking for parties. Loved the jazz music cds.
