Liked: Great place, feels more like a B&B than a hostel. Freshly squeezed juice in the morning. Warm bed spreads and spacious rooms.

Disliked: Could use some heat in the morning and hand soap in the bathroom.

Liked: The hostel is incredibly well-maintained and the it is run by a wonderful and entertaining family. During our stay my sister and I were invited to join in the host's birthday party which he was holding in the backyard where we met his family and friends and tasted delicious Chilean grilled meats. In the morning we were served the best breakfast of our stay in Chile, including freshly made smoothies. The kitchen was also open for our use.

Disliked: Nothing to dislike! It's a short walk away from the main square of town (about five minutes), which helps keep down the street noise at night.

Liked: The staff was friendly. The room was big, light and clean and the bathroom too. The breakfast was GREAT with homemade jams, fresh juices and real colombian coffee. It's a quiet place, so if you want to met people it's not the best place, but absolutely a nice place to stay if you like calm

Liked: Excellent in every respect; proprietor and staff were wonderful, the fellow travellers interesting, and the accomodations clean and sufficient. The price is very reasonable; we would recommend this hostel over most of the other places we saw in Castro.

Liked: This is a charming hostel and the owner is very helpful. It felt like home. There is a great dining/kitchen area where breakfast is served (with freshly squeezed juice). We enjoyed Isla Chiloe very much.

Liked: The owner is an extremely nice guy who helps you with everything and will make nice juices or eggs for you for breakfast anytime you get up, even at 12. Close enough to supermarket/busstation etc. Very homey atmosphere, recommended!

Liked: We loved the warm atmosphere, and it felt incredibly safe. The accommodations were the cleanest I've seen in South America so far, and the owner was absolutely wonderful. I would definitely recommend Torre de Babel to anyone going to Castro.
