Liked: Nice small hostel. Shared washroom were very clean. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Cost is very reasonable.

Liked: This hostel is near downtown and china town.Many restaurants near this hostel.It's really convenient. And the staff are very nice here. If I go to Victoria again,I will definitely choose turtle hostel again.

Disliked: It seems that the security is not enough.But you can bring your own lock to put your things in locker.

Liked: The hostel itself has character. Its in a reasonably good location with short walk to the main street and the downtown area. It was clean and tidy with friendly staff.

Disliked: Only one shower on the ground floor. The hostel didn't have an overly good atmosphere and didn't lend itself to meeting other people very well. Also in our dorm room the ceiling light had no bulbs and thus didnt work. There were two tall lamps, however, one of which turned on and off on its own accord and the second gave out slightly more light than a birthday cake candle!

Liked: Staff were very friendly and helpful. I asked about a nearby Korean restaurant and one of the girls came back to me an hour later after looking it up for me.

Disliked: The beds were ok but I little weird. They were some kind of plasticy material. It was grand once the sheet stayed on though.

Liked: Price is the only good point of this hostel.

Disliked: The staff at there was SO AWFUL that I had a WORST experience among all of my experiences in many hostels. They put 6 girls in a room for 5 girls and I had to move my room at midnight. And the staff told it as my fault. " I wasn't here in afternoon. If you didn't make your bed imedietly, your bed could be considered an empty bed. " When I was forced to move to the other room, the staff didn't apologize. She tell me sorry when I checked out. Well, they give me a private room instead of a dorm, but that room has its window to corridor and it made me very uncomfortable.

Liked: Bed bugs and constant noise through out the building will make your stay a pleasant introduction into Victoria for sure.

Liked: - 5min walk to downtown- there is a small mall nearby with Subway, Domino pizza and a Japanese restaurant in it- not enough shower rooms...

Liked: Paper thin walls make this a very LOUD place to rest your head. Too few bathrooms for too many people. Expect to pay more than you are quoted on this website - taxes and extra charges for hiring towels or breaking any of the many rules!

Liked: The look of the place is very nice. Murals everywhere under the theme of the turtles. Also, a big aquarium with big turtles inside! The staff offered us a Christmas Dinner at our arrival, it was delicious!

Liked: Good location as it was across the street from Dominos pizza!!! However our room door handle was broken and kept coming off, the kitchen is too small and poorly stocked with utensils and some of the people staying there were weird and just a little bit scary! Not a fun place to meet people at all.

Liked: Nice place to discover Victoria, just a little bit off-centered (10 minutes walk to downtown), but very cheap and clean. The turtle owner could offer you some reductions for whale watching or museums, we really appreciate it.

Liked: Really good people in the hostel. Location close enough to town only a short walk but as in Vancouver a few homeless around but nothing to worry about. Very good value for money and clean thanks to mama Sue!! The turtles are cute as.
