It's very clean and comfortable. I stayed in the shared dome and it's fun meeting the new people. This was the first time I've ever stayed in a hostel. Good experience!
The hostel is right in the middle of Vancouver and so well-placed for sightseeing. We were given good advice about places to visit and area to eat in. Breakfast is a communal experience and is a good opportunity to meet up with other travellers, which is fun. The hostel cats are also very welcoming!

We stayed at this hotel on 8th and 9th August before setting off on a 4 week tour around Canada and Alaska. We returned to the Best Western Downtown at Midnight on 5th September after an 11 hour flight back from Fairbanks!!. We were met by the friendly face of Denise who went out of her way to help us settle in and get some rest. After having stayed at several more highly rated hotels on our tour Eg Renaissence/ Hilton/ Chateau at Lake Louise etc where we had to PAY $15 ++ to access their "FREE Wi-Fi" if we needed over 1 hour. Plus having to beg for extra towels, soap etc every time we needed a second shower each day. Coming back to the Best Western was like coming home after a month away. The staff (especially Denise and Paulina) were extremely helpful and sympathetic to our needs. The hotels location whilst not in a very central area was still easy to access by Bus or car. Overall I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for Good Value for money accomodation in Vancouver.
The hotel is situated in an area which gives you easy access to several popular Vancouver areas ie False Creek, Olympic Village, Yaletown, Robson St. It's a half block walk to the bus stop and if you prefer to walk you can be in the major shopping areas, close to musems, restaurants and theaters within 20 minutes. The staff was very friendly, rooms were clean and well appointed. It's pet friendly and has a restaurant on site.

I really enjoyed how close it was to the beach, that was the most amazing part of the hostel.
Nice and clean. A little further out, but it perhaps made it a little more quiet and not so crowded.

I really liked the location of the hostel and that there were several bathrooms available on our floor so we never had to wait for one. Also, the fact that they were separate was nice.
This place is perfect. Central Location. I have travelled to 71 countries and stayed in many many hostels, this place has the best breakfast hands down compared to anywhere I have stayed, Bagels, Cereal, Fruit, Muffins, Scones, Orange Juice etc. There are 4 bathrooms on each floor with showers that felt like being back at home. If you're coming to Vancouver this is exactly where you should stay.

Nice to have the garden, breakfast was good, I don't have tv at home so that's kind of fun.
The room was large and the beds pretty comfortable. Staff was fairly helpful, and the atmosphere was quite nice, relaxed and quiet. Quite aesthetically pleasing.

Great atmosphere, well setup rooms with person fans, lights, powerpoints and lockers.
I had a great stay here. Staff were friendly and helpful, especially the fabulous Blair who carried my suitcase up all the stairs. A gentleman, a not too bad on the eyes.

Although they had only four toilets and two showers for a whole floor somehow they managed to keep it clean.
I am a multiple times repeat guest. The location is perfect of Downtown attractions, Davie Street, and the West End and nothing else will come close to the low price. Nice having the 24 hr desk service for the Inn Style, but if you are looking for luxury this is not the place.

Very clean, quiet, and safe, as described. Manager was very nice and personally made us a great breakfast. Parking outside was free and extremely easy.
Very friendly couple that run this property. They will help you wherever you need help and advise for your staying in Vancouver. I truly recommend Little Retreat B&B for people who love a family atmosphere.

Nice hostel, good location. Staff were friendly and helpful. Dorm was a decent size. Some outside noise because of age of the building and showers could do with modernizing. Overall good value for money.
It's a beautiful old building. I mean it is old so there are going to be a few issues like it is a bit musky smelling and plumbing is old as well as the door locks. But we very much so enjoyed our stay. The location is perfect for getting to anywhere. Stanley park is a little ways and Granville is a good 25 min walk but the walk is wonderful and so many different routes to take. It was a bit hard to find the hostel when we were driving in but the reception was very good at helping me find my way over the phone. Parking is a bit of a hassle but I worked out that as long as you arrive at the lot after 6pm you can pay for overnight parking that will last until 6pm the next day for $13 which is t bad for being downtown and half a block from the hostel. The staff were very helpful when we were locked out of our room because the lock broke ( they are replacing all the locks on the door shortly as I guess they are having some issues with the current locks.) the price of this hostel, the location, the staff and the heritage of the building are all amazing aspects of the place and I would reccomend it to anyone even if they have never stayed in a hostel before. A hotel may have a few more amenities but for the people you meet and the price you pay St. Clair hostel hotel was a great stay and we are so happy to have found it over any of the other hostels. The location is actually perfect it's just far enough from Granville st. To have some peace and quiet but close enough to be able to stumble home after a night at the bar. Best place to stay and worth every penny.

The house I (and my two fellow travellers) were in was on a quiet street. It was my first time staying in an actual house as opposed to the more usual hotel-like setup and I found out I really prefer my stay this way so props for that. Property was clean and the patrons respected the rules. Only a 10 minute stroll to the skytrain was a huge perk also. Don't think you're going to beat the price for a bed either. Keep it up VBH!
The bathroom was really clean and quiet. The house is close to skytrain and bus stops.
