Liked: Location was great... right next to the bus and train terminal and just some minutes walk from downtown! Everything else is exactly what you can expect for the price! Not awesome nor totally awful!! for that price and the location I would stay there again!

Disliked: was not really clean, does just have a lobby not really a room to spend some time outside your room in the evening!!

Liked: Location is very good. Just 3 minutes walking from the central train station, also very near to the sky train station.

Disliked: There are some kind of bugs in the room. I was bitten with more than 50 lumps all over my body, no sleep all night. No air conditioning and wifi in the room. The windows face to the main street. Very very noisy, day and night. Strange smell in the building. Not clean.

Liked: The two receptionists we dealt with were very friendly and helpful and were always willing to help us with questions we had.

Disliked: It was filthy dirty; The residents were exactly that- residents and not guests; Only paper cups and plates, and plastic forks and knives were on offer- difficult if you want to cook hot food- as it melts the plates- or cut vegetables or fruit- the plastic knives were not sharp enough.

Liked: It was close to the train station.

Disliked: It did not feel very safe. the private room was a bunk bed. Smoking was allowed in the common areas and in the rooms.

Liked: YOU WILL NOT FIND ANOTHER PLACE THAT IS SO CENTRALLY LOCATED; STAFF VERY KNOWLEDGABLE TO SEND YOU IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION. VERY FRIENDLY STAFF.

Disliked: FOR THE MONEY YOU CAN NOT FIND A BETTER PLACE. IT IS SAFE . AND EVEN THOUGH IT COULD USE A LITTLE COSMETICS-- OLDER IVANHOE HOTEL...... IT HAS HISTORY AND WORTH THE STAY SEVERAL NIGHTS TO 5 DAYS

Liked: Very central, especially if you need to take buses or trains from Central Station.Very friendly and helpful stuff! Clean rooms and bathrooms and cheap prices.

Disliked: Many strange people inside of the hostel and around the place. The Central station is probably the reason for it but it does not make you feel secure!

Disliked: toilet needs something, and the fact that many local dodgy ppl leave there, makes it weird..

Liked: Friendly staff. It was nicely located to the bus depo. The dorm room came with a TV and a fridge. They have a kitchen and you can borrow pots and pans.

Disliked: Some people may not like the condition of the bathroom.

Liked: it was very convenient to the train station which was important to me. the staff were great and super friendly & helpful. it was convenient to china town and a good walk to gastown as well. the building itself is very comfortable with high ceilings and is spacious.

Disliked: the only drawbacks are that the neighborhood is a bit sketchy and cigarette smoke from below wafts into the hallways.

Liked: Their address was slightly different from the one of hostelbookers. But their staffs are really kind and nice. They have good atmosphere to meet new people.

Liked: Its not the hilton but if you wanna save on accommodation and spend it on booze or tourist things... this is def convenient. Staff were friendly and it was walking distance from the bus station and about a 45minute walk to granville island.. nice views of the parks and the city if its a sunny day!!

Liked: It is very close to Vancouver Pacific Station (Greyhound, Amtrak, Pacific Coach Lines). There are sketchy characters near the park, but as a lone female, I'd be more afraid of the drunken frat guys hanging out in the clubs and bars. The staff are very helpful, friendly and accomodating, especially Chris. Thank you!

Liked: It is cheap, that is it. One cultural note: although it is something acceptable in Canada, having a transparent door for the shower in the girl's common washroom may be disturbing for people with other origins.

Liked: very friendly staff always helping you out. Also the place was just out of town . A nice quiet place. Also the pub next door is very good too.Not much in the kitchen though. for cooking untensils.
