Attractions in Tofino and Ucluelet
Pacific Rim National Park: Just to the south Pacific Rim National Park boasts 33km of Long Beach, 800 years old rainforests, nature guides and lots of culture. Pacific Rim National Park is famous for its world class surfing and its miles of beautiful, long, sandy white beaches, wilderness hiking, fishing, diving snorkeling, bike riding, whale watching and more.
Whale/Wilderness Watching in Ucluelet: Ucluelet offers great whale watching in the Barkley sound known for the many wonderful islands and spectacular landscapes. It is a great day out to see the Whales, eagles, bears, sea lions, seals, and much more. The gray whales also migrate past the shores in March and October.
Kayaking In Ucluelet: Ucluelet offers some of the best kayaking in the Barkley Sound. There are several companies and tours to choose from one day to several days.
Ferries: In the summer you can take a ferry to Bamfield to explore the beaches and wilderness offered in the broken island group. You can also take a ferry to Port Alberni through the broken Island group and Alberni inlet.
Whale Watching in Tofino: Tofino, located in the Clayoquot Sound biosphere, is known as a wonderful destination for whale watching. The magnificent gray whales migrate past the shores in March and October. The resident orcas (killer whales) also feed in the numerous inlets and waterways of the Sound.
Kayaking in Tofino: The protected inlets of Clayoquot Sound and the surrounding area offer some of the finest sea kayaking and diving in the world.
Native Culture: Visitors to the west coast won't want to miss the truly unique immersion into ancient traditions, art and rituals of the First Nations People of the area. A visit to the hot springs on Meares island guided tours by the Nuu-Chah-Nulth people of Clayocquot Sound is a special experience. Learn about the divine relationship between man and sea, the secrets of natural healing using indigenous plants, culturally modifies trees and sacred sites.
Other Activities: Leaving the wilderness one can find a variety of places to eat from fast food restaurants, pubs and take outs to gourmet and five star exclusive restaurants. Visitors to Tofino can also find dazzling nightlife, art galleries and shopping. Summer in Tofino offers guests numerous kids camps and activities for children. For the golfer, Long Beach Golf course, located in the Clayoquot Biosphere Reserve, is one of the most scenic golf courses on British Columbia's west Coast.
