Liked: quite cheap

Disliked: small rooms, no towels, different prices of parking, despite informing when are we coming noone was there - had to call. I was told that the owner will be there in a minute - was about 10-15. Took us to different house. To sum up, never again.

Disliked: Difficult service and very difficult to contact. Was kept waiting outside for 30 mins

Liked: It was clean and adequate in size.

Disliked: The other guests were a bit noisy and sometimes cooked food well after midnight. Also, iThere was no longer any contact number or name on the door to confirm that they were at York University Home.

Liked: Good points - The location to the Tennis Stadium (the reason i stayed here) and the fact that i got a room with a bathroom as a free extra.

Disliked: Bad points - Carpet needed a good hoover and the oven & fridges were disgusting. So much so that when i used it the smoke alarm went off due to the amount of grease etc in the oven heating up. Of course this is not the owners fault but the people who stay there long-time, maybe a word to them from the owner to keep things tidy would not go amiss. Tax wasn't included in the final balance i got when i booked the apartment, which i thought was dodgy so remember to add another 13%

Liked: I have used this hostel for two weeks stay. This place is quite and clean. Room, washroom and kitchen was very clean. Staff used to change linen and make up room daily. I have feeling of good breath while stay @ this location. Room was fully furnished and was arranged on arrival. I would recommend this place for those who likes to stay in quite and calm place and looking for privacy. Best thing about hostel is its very clean and rates are reasonable according to provided facilities.

Disliked: I was not happy with the behaviour and cooperation level of landlord. He was just concerned about his money. I have found him greedy and a kind of person who takes benefit of others problems. I wanted to extend my stay here and have asked him for some discount but despite of understanding he has raised the charges so decided to relocate.

Liked: A clean, adequate room. A bit far from downtown but only as much as I am now from Montreal. Friendly staff, the only real bad point was that it sometimes got a bit noisy after 11pm (I was with my 6year old) with people taking showers, coming and going, etc. I'd stay there again and would recommend it for the value and cleanliness.

Liked: Overall York University Home provides great bang for your buck. Free high speed internet and Cable ). IF problems should arise you can telephone the staff. Safe facility/neighborhood. .Consider opting for the (ensuite-Private bathroom ). .(Bear in mind there are several homes and each one has its own dynamic,, Also you'll find load of college students.. as well hi-tech contract workers from other countries..,,My comments are based on where I resided for more than 10 days. The kitchen was horrible :..Dirty dishes(crusty food. ) were left in /on the sink /counters for more than a few days. If you have a private room /shared bathroom pack your shower shoes../cheap bathroom rug ) . If you need to microwave water, or hot pockets. be prepared to clean the microwave . Pillows had Horrendous odors; Before you leave home pack an inexpensive pillow ./pillow case./ protector case/.snuggie Blanket., micowaveable dish /cup. In addition , pack several plastic grocery store plastic bags. /canvas bag(s).Plastic are.(5cents each) . Four winds Community market is in walking distance but quite pricey (sentinal & Fourwinds..),,Good things near public transportation... The 36 bus going towards Weston At the intersection of (Finch and Sentenial) takes you to Jane/Finch Mall (Price Choppers, shoppers world Drugmart. where you purchase Febreze, paper towels and ,Pinesol/lysol toilet . paper., paper towels sponges. IF you take the 36 Bus in the opposite direction (Finch strain Station) same side of the street as ( Tim Hortons.) you'll pass restaurants.(keele Avenue)... Enjoy your stay...

Liked: I absolutely loved my stay at this house! There are quite a few different houses that are included in this listing, so there's a chance you won't be staying at the house pictured. They're all nice though.The only thing that I found frustrating was the cleanliness of the kitchen, but that's easily fixed by just cleaning up. I've made lots of new friends here and I'm definitely going to try and come back soon!I definitely recommend this listing. =)

Liked: The cheep price made it worth to stay there. but for people how´s intending to discovert the city is the place to fareaway from the center. you have to take bus and subway for getting to the center and it needs about one hour; depending when the busses arrives.

Liked: It was a convenient location with a friendly staff. Also the place was very cheap in a very pretty neighbourhood. Shops and supermarkets in the erea and also good cheap places to eat.

Liked: They have several properties in the York Village. Unless you are interested in staying close to York University, don't bother. The owner is just up for the money. The flat had ants and the kitchen was very very dirty as well as the bathroom, but they are renting the rooms for long term too so that might be up to the tenants. Furniture was ok, rooms have diff sizes, matrasses have diff qualities, etc. They are advertised more or less to what they offer

Liked: Not many others around and the parking is in a garage at the back of the house. Close to a bus stop.You must call ahead for a parking spot as there are only 2 spots available. Also, you have to call the number on the door when you get there to have someone let you into the house.

Liked: If our room would be much cleaner, it would be a big pleasure to stay there. What we did not like at all was a strange smell coming out from the small kitchentte next to our room. Comparing price, location and accommodation, just ok.
