Overview

Lodgings in the centre of downtown St. John's Newfoundland within 10 minutes walking radius of all tourist attractions, from Harbour, Signal Hill, George Street, fine dining, Ches's Fish and Chips, Iceberg and Whale Watching Tours. About Abba Hostel (Downtown)

We offer exceptionally high quality accommodation, spacious bedrooms, excellent furnishings, excellent mattresses, and excellent linens, free local telephone calls, free WiFi, in a downtown location. Our kitchen facilities have virtually everything from microwave to dishwasher.

We do not have an on site receptionist, concierge, or greeting staff.
We do not provide breakfast foods
We do not provide daily maid service.
WiFi is not suitable for downloading or watching movies. It is fine for email or internet searching.

We do provide weekly towel and linen changes for extended stays

For people wishing the comrade of 10 fellow hostellers, our location is not for you.

The City operates a tourism site a couple of blocks away with professional tourism staff who know virtually everything about the City

Accommodation Information

We have different room types. Shared rooms with twin size beds with shared bath, private room with either double or queen size bed and either shared bath or private ensuite washroom.

Our kitchens have all appliances, coffee maker, pots and pans, dishes and cutlery. We provide the basic condiments such as tea, coffee, creamers, salt, pepper, ketchup and so on.

Our washrooms all have hair dryers. We leave ample supplies of towels and facecloths in our bedrooms

There is a large supermarket complex within a block with a wide selection of foods at the lowest prices in the City.

All we ask is that our guest clean up the kitchen after using it. Our units have a dishwasher.

Natural Environment - Besides humpback and Minke Whales, one can see fin, sperm, blue, pothead, Sei and right whales in the coastal waters surrounding Newfoundland and Labrador.

The Fluvarium - The only public Fluvarium in North America where one can view Brook and Brown Trout in their natural habitat.

Historic Downtown - Museums, galleries, historical buildings, parks, restaurants, pubs and specialty shops can be found along the narrow winding streets and laneways of one of the oldest mercantile districts in North America

Johnson GEO Centre - The Johnson GEO Centre, a geological interpretation centre 30,000 sq. ft. building, including the exhibits area (approx. 13,500 sq. ft.), is underground.
