Liked: Really clean ; cheerful atmosphere. Doesn't look like an inn but like a little inviting house. All comfort (wifi, 2 computers, large TV and HUGE bathroom).

Disliked: Nothing.

Liked: Barefoot Hostel is a great place. It has the energy of a very hip home. Easy to meet other travelers and a great location.

Disliked: there wasn't a full kitchen, which would have been nice. There were only two showers, which wasn't a problem in November but might be an issue in more busy times. There is no one on staff in the hostel (they are next door at the hotel.) So, there isn't someone just there to ask questions and make sure the place is safe.

Liked: Staff were fantastic, was like staying in your own house, with a cleaner. Really refreshing after months of backpacking

Liked: Basically nice family hostel with big shower in the first floor and really comfortable lounge with big TV.

Disliked: Very noisy in the morning, because of construction works using explosives right next to the hostel.

Liked: this was maybe the best hostel i ever stayed in. it is a such a warm, cosy, calm, nice place, it really does feel a little bit like home. if you plan to visit ottawa, you HAVE to stay in the barefoot hostel. the big living room with a huge flatscreen and two computers and a small kitchen ist great. it is very comfortable to sit on the coach and chat with other travelers. the rooms are nice and the beds are fantastic! the shower is really fancy and spacy. it is great, to see, how much thought was put in the hostel, there are so many neat and useful details, e.g. each bed has a small led reading light, the towels match and and and... the staff is friendly and helpful. the location is great, you can do all your sightseeing by foot.

Disliked: the kitchen is small and it is not really good for cooking, but you can heat up something in the microwave. for me, that was no problem, but it might be good to know. if you want to contact the stuff, you have to go to the swiss hotel, which is next door, cause there is nobody in the hostel.

Liked: Very clean, ultra comfortable beds, free Wi-Fi in rooms and common area. Bathrooms were spotless and soap/shampoo/towel included. Staff very friendly and offer free luggage storage after check-out. Prices were very good for central Ottawa - location was unbeatable.

Disliked: Nothing - it was a top-notch hostel.

Liked: This place was in a very good location. Everyting worth seeing in Ottowa was in walking distance from it.

Disliked: The people staying there were suuuuuuper boring with one exception. I've never been to a hostel where the travellers would rather sit around watching Not Another Teen Movie (or any movie for that matter!) than go out and see the city.

Liked: la pulizia, il bagno al piano sopra dove ho soggiornato era grande e nuovo. uno dei migliori hostel dove ho soggiornato! a disposizione c era anche un computer per navigare gratis, l altro era rotto!

Disliked: 80 dollari per due notti in hostello per me sono troppi!

Liked: very clean, towels included, nice bathroom and living room, free wi-fi good location near downton

Disliked: Noisy neigbhors ( but it was weekend and they were only loud until 12 so it was ok). There is only one really bad thing, the description how to get there from the Bus Terminal is wrong ! Its not bus Numer 4 ! You have to take bus 14 or 12 or even 7 but never ever Bus 4 , because that takes you to the outskirts of town !

Liked: A small, quiet, and clean place. I really enjoyed staying there.

Disliked: Maybe the fact that there was no lock on the room door and basically any guest staying at the hostel could enter it, but there were small lockers in the room.

Liked: A wonderfully well appointed and clean guesthouse (much more like that than a youth hostel). Quiet & comfortable & close to many attractions.

Disliked: No stove in the kitchen just a microwave. No laundry.

Liked: It's impeccably clean. The shower is huge and hot. The kitchen is clean, the rooms are clean. There is a flat-screen television and fast wireless that works perfectly. Big couches, big beds. Lockers. You aren't allowed to wear shoes (hence Barefoot) and it's nice. Wear comfy thick socks in the winter. There is a large back patio that would be nice in the summer. The whole city is at the doorstop. Shopping and eating is close, with two large grocery stores and a beer and liquor store around the corner. The parliament is a 10 minute walk.

Disliked: I was here during the winter months and it was not very busy. There was not many people to chat with, so probably not the place to come if your looking to party, at least in the winter. There doesn't appear to be a stove-top or oven in the kitchen, just a micro-wave. There maybe something in the hotel that is attached, but not in the hostel. Not a huge deal, but if you are living on pasta like most backpackers, keep it in mind.
