Liked: Excellent location, very clean.

Disliked: The heat in the room was turned up so high that it made it very hard to sleep, and I couldn't find a way to turn it off.

Liked: A wonderfully well appointed and clean guesthouse (much more like that than a youth hostel). Quiet & comfortable & close to many attractions.

Disliked: No stove in the kitchen just a microwave. No laundry.

Liked: It's impeccably clean. The shower is huge and hot. The kitchen is clean, the rooms are clean. There is a flat-screen television and fast wireless that works perfectly. Big couches, big beds. Lockers. You aren't allowed to wear shoes (hence Barefoot) and it's nice. Wear comfy thick socks in the winter. There is a large back patio that would be nice in the summer. The whole city is at the doorstop. Shopping and eating is close, with two large grocery stores and a beer and liquor store around the corner. The parliament is a 10 minute walk.

Disliked: I was here during the winter months and it was not very busy. There was not many people to chat with, so probably not the place to come if your looking to party, at least in the winter. There doesn't appear to be a stove-top or oven in the kitchen, just a micro-wave. There maybe something in the hotel that is attached, but not in the hostel. Not a huge deal, but if you are living on pasta like most backpackers, keep it in mind.

Liked: This hostel was very clean and was quiet. Had a great nights sleep. Not too much going on in the way of meeting new people. Owner is very friendly and helpful. Had free wifi and internet worked well.

Disliked: just a bit quiet. I also had to pay the full price quoted even though id already paid 10% through hostelbookers.

Liked: The people were really nice and friendly, the bed was good and it was nice and quiet! Nice with free internet acces, with an Ok speed! :-)

Disliked: There were only one toilet and one shared bathroom functioning for the whole place (I think they were working on an extra bathroom upstairs), which would have been terrible if the place was filled (I came out of season!) The only cooking facilities were a microowen and a kettle, no stowe.

Liked: I really enjoy my stayed here! The owner is So friendly and lovely! The hostel is increadable clean! And the location is amazing!

Liked: I like stepping into a building that feels like home. Through adhering to the 'barefoot' rule, the hostel becomes like a home that you want to respect, and that you can feel comfortable in. The woman who owns and runs the hostel (Sabina) is very friendly and accommodating. She allowed me to store my luggage on my departure day, and even supplied me with after-sun cream after I suffered the rays! This gesture made me feel a little closer to home! The house is kept very clean - I did not feel the need to wear flip flops in the shower which is always a blessing. There is a very comfortable living area where you can chill, watch TV, and access the internet. If you are coming from the greyhound bus, get off at the university, as it is a 5 minute walk from there and very easy to find! I can't criticize the place, if it was a little cheaper then I would have stayed longer (but I guess that just comes with the curse of capitals!)

Liked: Small and quiet hostel. Great lounge area to hang out in with a big screen tv and comfortable couches. Free interntet and great location.

Disliked: No locks on the bedroom doors, but they did have small lockers inside.

Liked: This hostel is super clean with free internet and tv and excellent location. My only complaint would be the atmosphere, but that's because I was travelling alone and it really is not the place to meet new people as almost everyone kept to themselves (and was there for conferences etc, not as travellers). If I pass through Ottawa again and am travelling with others I'll definitely stay again, but if next time I'm alone I'll pick another place.

Liked: The place was very close to everything which was really nice. The hostel was really quiet, perhaps even too quiet. Don't expect some lively atmosphere in this place. The staff was friendly and helpful. I found everything very clean and the lounge area was very nice too. Everything you could possibly need is in inside this hostel. The only thing I didn't like was that there were quite a bit of homeless people across the street. You can see some crazy people under the influence of drugs or alcohol too. I guess that can be kinda disturbing walking by yourself. Also, I think the price for this hostel is just a little high.

Liked: Best Hostel i've stayed in. sabina the owner is one of the nicest people you will ever meet. The place is clean and in a great position down town. Do yourself a favour and stay here. You will not regret it. Trust me.

Liked: We had a fabulous weekend at the Barefoot Hostel. It's ideally located and the owner is super nice. The facilities are all brand new and really clean! There's a Metro supermarket and a Beer Store a minute away so we were all set :) Parliament Hill is only a 10 minute walk from here. Thanks so much for everything, will be sure to recommend and come back!

Liked: Excellent staff, very accommodating and helpful and friendly. I met very cool people and was able to walk everywhere from the hostel. Clean and good kitchen and bathroom facilities!
