Liked: Great location, with a very helpful staff. An unusual, spooky fun place to stay. Price for the tour of the jail is discounted for those staying there. It was very interesting.

Liked: We loved to location, the safety, and the atmosphere. We also used the lounge in the evenings - the set up down there is wonderful - lots of fun.

Liked: staff were excellent - very helpful and approachable. Hostel had great characterm with being an old jail. Dorms were spacious, and were cleaned everyday. Hot showers 24hr. Actitvies on most evenings & Ottawa is a great area, really pretty with some great parks to read a good book.

Liked: great facility..friendly staff..an atmosphere to die for ( a nasty pun what?)....food very good for the price..wasn't a single thing I can honestly gripe about, so congrats on a very run and interesting facility.

Liked: availability of towels as well as sheets, sheets were very clean, internet availability and cheap, excellent breakfast. I would have appreciated some more toilets.

Liked: This hostel has a very unique atmosphere due to its history as a jail. It is a discombobulating fusion of "Prison Break" and a funky backpackers hostel, and quite unlike any other place I have stayed. Loads of character!

Liked: I did like it, although I feel duty bound to point out that the Hot water system there was consistently slow to kick in (except the morning I left when it didn't kick in at all!), and the reception staff were ovr two hours late on the morning of my first day.

Liked: Great location! Within walking distance to all major tourist attractions, fun night life and good restaurants. The atmoshphere was very unique and friendly, although we didn't see any ghosts.

Liked: The internet times (all other hostels should do $3 for 24hrs of usage instead of the $3 for 1 hr)The cells were cool, also the kitchen was very well equipt.The bathrooms and toilet walls need a good clean though.
