Open since 2004, the Guesthouse is a fully renovated and refurbished 1913 heritage building. Located in the heart of the waterfront/ arts district in downtown Nanaimo, it sits amongst trendy cafes & restaurants, pubs & clubs, art galleries, bakeries, street performers and local points of interest.

The Painted Turtle Guesthouse has been thoughtfully designed with the active traveler in mind, plus we have thrown in a few special features: Two computer terminals, FREE wireless, FREE luggage storage and a living area that has a fully equipped kitchen and dining facilities, a cozy fireplace and lounge, free games, and incredibly clean, centralized private washrooms.

The Painted Turtle Guesthouse in Nanaimo, BC is pleased to offer dorm style quad rooms, classic private rooms, and group or family room accommodation. We welcome families, sporting and cultural groups and independent backpackers. Room types for all budgets!

Quad room - dorm style room with 2 sets of bunk beds (female, male and co-ed available). Newer pillow top beds in a large, comfortable room with window.

Classic room - private room with a new comfy pillow top bed. Sleeps 2 maximum

Group room - queen bed and one set of bunk beds (sleeps 4 maximum).

All rooms include linens and towels as well as a lockable charging locker station for laptops, cell phones and cameras.
